oh yeah, forgot to mention.....please try and make these downloadable (if the album is very rare, doubt many people will have the file to share)..

nice list helal.

at the moment, I'd say hollow tip is a good consideration, but I've been trying for hours to get some mf doom, brother ali, jedi mind tricks and there are hardly any files of them, seems the same with hollow tip.

I will try to upload the album somewhere for you.

Btw. I have heard from a lot of people also good stuff about the new Bustah album and the new Ghostface album.

We should seriously start a poll in which you could pick your top 3 emcees. I'm proud of the discussion going on in the Hip Hop thread. Too often it's all been dead. :D

Re: Cube & NWA, helal mentioned it, no vaseline is the song that killed NWA, that was the most ruthless (no pun intended) attack on another rapper at the time. I think that was practically it, he had a small go @ them in 'jackin' for beats', but that was very minor.

300 bars is the 15 minute song, yeah?
If so, it was okay, and I don't hate him because he has tongue ring etc (thats just one minor reason) but I don't like him because he talks a lot of crap and is very predictable, anyone who makes 3 farking mixtape albums about G-Unit and says he doesn't care about getting kicked out is a farking clown.
He cannot do a single song without mentioning or calling out someone, and some of his lyrics annoy me as well like proclaming himself as the saviour of the West Coast, being Eazy, Cube, Ren & Dre "rolled in one" & constantly bringing up how he's the new NWA.

Exactly man...he had the best production team of our times around him, and he does a record rapping about other peoples albums and Nike sneakers. Seriously..

Regarding Cube...I agree there with you and Chris Rock..between 1990-1993 or something Cube was probably the best MC outthere. I bought "AmeriKKKa's most wanted" at a shop for 5 Euros and this tells me that people don't know what good music is. The album is just blazing, and "Today was a Good Day" IMHO is still among the 5 best songs ever made.

I think we may have a new contributor to this thread very soon. I've managed to get one FI member to listen to two of my favourite artist and hopefully he likes it.

To be continued. ;)

I'm listening to an album that I find to be the best so far this year. Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor. What a breathe of fresh air this guy is. I can't remember a newcomer being so good lyrically.

It hasn't dropped yet but it's leaked already. Love it. If you guys are interested, I'll upload it on one of those sites. Good stuff, IMO.

Hal, Catanha, etc.... I need some good west coast tunes. Yay area, L.A, Dago, old or new, don't really care. Preferably something I haven't heard (relatively unknown artists would be great)

If you like Way too Real, try get the CP album below.

Chilee Powdah - Late Nite Gafflin

Brad, for new things get Champ Bailey's album and mixtapes from this year and last.

Also please dont sleep on...
The Frontline, there from Richmond, Cali.

They have about 3 albums ou, mainly from 04/05 but there great.

Anything with Rick Rock production is great, and im very proud to see Catanha mention Messy Marv/Messcalen who is easily one of my favourite rappers around, from his younger days releasing albums with San Quinn to today, i havent missed one album of his.

Good stuff. My favourites on that album is Get 2 Know ya. I also like, U C It, Like 2 Fuck etc, However B-Rad, his album is not as good as his mixtapes that he did on his own and with J. Valentine.

Anyway, what do you guys think about the ambassador of the bay, E-40?

His basically taking 'charge' of the hyphy(bay)-movement, and i really cant believe how quick that grew!

His song 'Tell me when to go' with keak, has fkn grown on me so bad, especially after seein the clip a few times.

and now the remix with Kanye West and Cube!!! great.

http://www.odeo.com/audio/718235/view

REad that article, it explains quite a bit about 40.

The way he was going to perform with Snoop, the Roots and all but didnt was great and thats loyalty.:star:

just when I'm looking for a West Coast resurgence, these clowns come into the fray with a million cameos from some respectable WC artists, but a clown of a song.

Agreed. I hate the song. I use to love DPG, but their time is past. :|

Kurupt's lil' brother, Roscoe is tight though. Reminds me alot of a younger Kurupt. Still waiting on his new cd.
