What's up homie's? :D

Anyways, here's where we can discuss about the latest songs and videos. I know me and Handoyo appreciate a few good lyrics, any other fans or is this site full of people who can't stand it?

Ok, i'll start this thread on the right foot with two simple questions for the Hip Hop heads in here.

Who's your favourite artist?

Personally i mostly listen to BEP, Kanye West, Jay Z, Nas, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Big L, Notorious BIG, Jadakiss, Tupac.

What are your favourite tracks right now?

Hmmm, tough.

Mos Def - Beef
BEP - Hey Mama
Mobb Deep - Got It Twisted
Kanye West - Home
Nas - Thief's Theme

Still loving my Lloyd Banks and Kanye West CD's, both are classic debuts.

Yummy, hip-hop! :)
Well, can't imagine anyone today reaching the levels of Biggy and Pac, and in general the whole 90's scene. Hip-hop today is commercial and is as real as Jenna Jameson's pair of watermelons.

I do enjoy an occasional Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Eminem tracks, though. 50 Cent has potential but only managed to release 4-5 high-quality songs so far, In Da Club not indcluded. Another promising artist in Nelly, that kid's got his own style, but like 50, I didn't hear anything worth listening from the guy since 'Batter Up'.

Just in case you want to listen to some good stuff these days then i suggest you download stuff from Kanye, Jadakiss, Mos Def and Talib Kweli.

Thanks for your input, would be nice to have more people to discuss some lyrical geniuses.

If you guys want to hear some good um... DJ-music,(I can't really describe it, it includes scratching and sampling, but not much rapping), I reccomend a Hell's Kitchen (rough area of New York City) based outfit called MING AND FS.
I saw them in concert the other day and they were absolutley awesome, but it knocked my socks off when at the end, one picked up a guitar and started to play chords, the other began to beatbox, while a new rapper came onto the stage to freestyle.
Simply put, it was amazing, and it erased all doubts in mind of hip-hop being an art form.

PS To find info about them, just search their name (in caps in paragraph above) in any search engine.

Jay-Z and Kanye West are 2 great rappers. I thoroughly enjoyed 'The Black Album' and 'The College Dropout.'

Well, I agree with Guy that most hip-hop todays are fake. There are a lot of rappers who just rap $ex, 9un, rims, girls and cars for non-stop. But you gotta listen to Kanye West. He's unique and talks about the social life and his life. And some of the jokes he put in the album are priceless. :D I love the 'School Skit' and 'Lil Jimmy Skit.' :D

Well, the only knock on Kanye's kit is that he has way too many skits and could have put in more of his great songs instead. However, the best skit on the album is the Workout Plan without a doubt. :D

I don't think there are too many skits in College Dropout. They're all required. The School and Lil Jimmy skits provide a prequel and sequel to the most hillarious song trilogy I've ever heard. :D

The Workout Plan is a great skit, hell yeah, but I prefer the school skits. :D

No introducion is needed for Kanye's songs, the point is he could have added some head bangers like some of the latest songs currently available to play on his website. Btw, i have downloaded them - awesome!

My favourite track on the whole album is Family Business, hands down.

Same. It's the most unique and the best rap I've ever heard. I was like :proud: when I first heard it. Great song!

I like Jesus Walks the second. And Get 'Em High is also good. Very underground.

Just recently my friend came over with a pack of five mixtapes full of just Kanye West songs that he's done. It's a dream for any Kanye fan.

Interforeva, looks like you've got great taste.

No, he's just found like about 70 songs from Kanye that he's done at the studio and he hasn't put on the album. I even have his first single coming from his next album. Pretty damn cool if i may say so myself.

Pay attention next time, don't like to repeat myself. :D :D

Special attention needs to be given to the ladies of the black music - Missy Elliott, Lauryn Hill, Eve, and others. Missy has great melodies, and Lauryn is just fantastic every time.

Also more alternative hip-hop albums Like Wyclef Jean's and Outkast's are a few of my favorites.

Yes, Im a fugees fan :)

Anyone who heard 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' and Outkast's 'The love Below' knows what Im talking about.

Actually I´m not sure I have given Hi Hop/Rap a decent chance... :D But I like some of Eminem´s work and that Jay Z song I can´t remember the name of... :blind:

D12 - How Come is excellent IMO. :star:

Wu-Tang Clan, or whatever their name is. They are good but I only heard some from that PS game. :dielaugh:
