He could be useful but he could also just given zero fucks at this point and wait till January. It’s only a few months away after all. I doubt Conte will utilize him anyways. He looked sluggish and uninterested during that cameo against Viola. Him and Eriksen can become good friends. They’ll plenty of time to converse riding that bench.

he would have been useful against Lazio... but then again he could have gotten a red card to spite us

Love how players can go I am not playing or I am not traveling or hell can just score own goals to fk with a team but we have to pay for them to leave.

Great, now we are stuck with a disinterested player, who lacks motivation.
I blame Spaletti.

Probably needs the equivalent of a preseason to get in top shape. The biggest shame about his time here is I don’t think we’ve ever seen him in form. Just when he was starting to play really well he got injured in the derby and basically never looked fit the rest of the year. Now he’s even older and looks more like Lukaku when he showed up. If he loses a few kilos and finds some joy in playing for Conte he could be a huge help. This guy can pass, tackle and score goals.

Yeah. The issue might be he can't find the joy and motivation since he's not a protagonist in this team. That's why he wanted to move to Cagliari, to be the protagonist. But now he's stuck here, because of his big balance sheet value and salary. Next summer his value is still almost 10m€. Maybe we sell him to Cagliari next summer for 5m€ and take that 5m€ minusvalenza hit.

Hopefully we can motivate him though. If we agree that we'll sell him to Cagliari at a loss at the end of the season, provided he has a good season for us...

One more good year, show the world your skills, then you can have your semi-retirement.

I loved seeing him and Vidal come in against Fiorentina - much better than Broz, Gags or Vecino.

probably be gone in January, but he can be useful next month when Vidal and Sensi are injured, and Barella gets suspended.

nah just sell him with the same price 10m just to screw Giulini..i mean, he saw how important n9 was to them last season and still want to get another discount or expect we do godin style??? wtf. maybe after experiencing relegation battle this season with crotone and genoa he will pay that...or not if they got relegate...

swab n9 + youngvalenza with cragno or nandez for next mercato.

really hope n9 can get motivation and be usefull for us this season.. come on man play hard for just this one season and make conte drops gags to bench!

Will take a momentous effort which can only come from him.

He was never the most professional type to begin with and he never wanted to even leave Roma in the first place. He had a very bumpy first season with injuries and other issues all during a super tumultuous time at the club at the end of which his mentor was sacked. Then he was branded as a troublemaker and exiled out of the club at the same time his wife was diagnosed with cancer. Been a rough couple of years for the dude and at this late stage in his career it’s probably unlikely that he’ll ever return to 2016 Nainggolan.

That said, fuck Cagliari and I’m glad we didn’t cave in (any further). Fucking animals.

in an ideal world radja should fight for his place. there is no reason why he wouldnt be able to prove himself and give the team a huge hand...a fit and concentrated nainggolan would be a huge difference maker for our squad this year

he has been one of my favourite players of the pas few years but unfortunately we all know this guys mentality, and i expect him to be fully uninterested, and will probably find himself in the news for his offeild antics as opposed to his onfeild performances....eventually we will loan him out to caligari and pay 75% of his wages until his contact runs out just to get rid of him

i hope i am wrong...

I am 60% sure this is how it will end. Being soft with players like Canreva and Nainngolan needs to stop. Either eat bench or find a decent buyer who is ready to pay the full signing fee.

well, this time we haven't been soft, otherwise we would have sold him for 5 mil and a youngster.

Ehm, why would Cagliari pay 10m€ next summer when Nainggolan has one year left of his contract, if they didn't want to pay 10m€ now when he had still 2 years left of his contract?

We aren't screwing Giulini one bit if we ask 10m€. :D Giulini will be then just like "okay, you can keep him".

The problem is Cagliari didn't even offer 5m plus a youngster. They offered zero cash and two youngsters who were loaned to a Serie C team. That's how highly they valued Naninggolan. If they wanted him so much they could offer Cragno or Nandez in the deal but in reality they wanted to get him for peanuts.

We didn't screw him from a financial point of view but from a sporting point of view we did. We screwed him in the way he was certain he would sign Nainggolan for free in the second season in a row and he ended up not getting the player. Nainggolan was very important to Cagliari last season so he's a big loss for them.

Why would they give up one of two important players for someone that was deemed redundant by his team?

Manchester United wanted Skriniar for Lukaku last season. We almost caved but Skriniar made it clear that he didn't want to leave so thankfully it didn't advance in that direction (and we had failed, only to return once Dybala rejected Manchester United). But even that's not comparable but no one in their right mind could have supported such an offer.

When you're a small club that buys from the bigger one, you always get a huge discount. That's how it works. Because the problem is not what Cagliari is offering but the fact that Nainggolan was available for Cagliari to begin with. Just like Godin was and he actually moved there for essentially nothing and we're probably covering a part of his salary.
