Yes, Fonseca is never better than Pioli. Why the hell Milan paying to move backward is beyond me.
Juve is improving immensely though. So does Napoli. Atalanta maybe coz they are earning tons of global attention.
The real team entering the banter era is Roma. They are releasing 1/3 of their current team due to the lack of funding. Can't even field full XI next season.

Sarri was always their best option imo. He would have got most out of the current roster and represents a nice middle ground between a coach that actually won something and isn't super demanding as conte. All these petitions , all this noise..what milanisti are atm doing . Bombing Fonseca's personal social's accounts that he's not welcomed! What a bunch of desperate losers. I would be really really surprised. Fonseca hasn’t done anything in his career to warrant such a coaching position.

Many of us were not particularly surprised by Inzaghi’s success given the excellent, often underrated work he did at Lazio over 5 seasons.

If back then i could have choose between Inzaghi and Fonseca i still would have picked Inzaghi. For me he was the best coach we could get. Someone who was always considered as a decent coach and is still young. Can't say the same about Fonseca. There was never a moment i thought he did a great job. He's just one of many coaches, nothing special.

Fonseca is a continuation of Pioli. I have the impression that he is a coach, who doesn't complain and works with whatever is provided. I've read an article about him, that he likes to work and develop young players, which later could be sold for money.
He also says that 3-4-3 is most suitable for Italy, and that will be a significant change for Milan's play style.
This seems as a very bad move for Milan, and I don't expect anything positive from them for the next season. Regardless of their transfers.

Not necessarily a reply to you, but it might be a bit naive to write off Conte and Napoli so fast. You have a squad that has already won the league once and knows that it's not an impossible task so Conte doesn't have much work to do mentally to inspire them, plus they are not playing in Europe at all since they finished 10th.
They will play only one match per week. Granted, Allegri also had to play only one match per week but Allegri had problems that were hard to anticipate (injuries, Pogba, forced to use youth players etc).

Conte could be our main competitor alongside Juve. Then Roma depending on their mercato.

And out of all these predictions, I am only absolutely certain that Milan will perform terribly next season again. And to answer your question about why Fonseca? Only 2.5m a year salary, that's why. That's salary of likes of Juric. Milan are super tight for cash right now, they couldn't afford De Zerbi's release clause (before he quit), they sure as hell can't gamble on russian roulette that is Conte and his likely golden handshake.

Well, last season was very strange. We lost 12 times in Serie A but managed to reach the CL final.

That CL final saved Inzaghi from being fired.

Pioli to me is a clown. I’d take anyone over him. His tactics are so unbelievably basic. Press high with fast CB’s for recovery pace and just rely on Leao and Theo to create goals out of thin air. It’s not a surprise Inzaghi completely destroyed him countless times. He has no plan B.
