Oh, so with Favalli suspended and Coco not called up, you wanna see who as a left back?

Was this directed at me? If so what I'm saying is that considering the circumstances we now unfortunately have to play him on the left. Not much choice what so ever. However my point is that we cant expect him to run on the flank and provide crosses. As usual when played on the left he will solely focus on the defensive side of things!

Nah, it was directed to Adriano who went bonkers about the decision to play Zanetti as left back and play Ze Maria. ;)

Yeah, I can see Adriano scoring a goal, and then pulling his shirt to reveal what's written in the undershirt:

Ce per te Fabio

Well in fact I got the whole team to wear my name on their shirts underneath their kits, so if we win they will all take off their shirts and...

Enjoy the game Fabio!

BTW I don't know if this was already said, but Porto got smacked up by Nacional on the weekend, 4-0! I for one don't think domestic form influences CL form unfortunately. Just look at Liverpool.

Anyways it's good to see Oba and Vieri back in the squad, even if they're probably not starting according to Mancini. My thoughts go out to Burdisso and his son too, hopefully he makes a quick recovery. :(

It's a shame Gamarra isn't exactly match fit or I'd definitely pick him over Materazzi to pair with Sinisa. But it seems fate had dealed us another cruel hand from the moment Cordoba got that yellow, three weeks back. :depress:

Mancini better play more attacking-minded this time around. I almost fell asleep in the 1st leg. No CZ-Cambiasso!

Don't panic, we're Inter, sure we might concede a goal but we'll crash those portoguese former champions, now average team.

Hopefully our team keeps this in mind tomorrow -> "We're at a disadvantage, so it means we will have to risk more than Inter" José Couceiro

Impossible is nothing , Forza Inter !

I would take the so called risk of playing Gamarra , mainly because Materazzi has been playing badly while Gamarra has always done well in important matches , also because Gamarra is so intelligent in his game he doesn't need to be fully fit to play on a high level.
Except for that I think VdM has been great against Lazio and deserves to play , while CZ is said to be struggling with fintess.

My line - up :

--------------------Toldo--------------------
Ze Maria---Gamarra--Mihajlovic--Zanetti
VdM---------Veron----Cambiasso--Dejan
---------Adriano-----Martins/Cruz---------

id like it if Gamaraa plays.

thats almost perfect, u just need to add 'speed' because even tho he doesnt have speed, he still can beat alot of quick defenders out there from his experience.

But i dont like VDM playing. I think we need a defensive lineup.

ESpecially with NO Cordoba. i think we need 2 dm's and veron and deki up front.

If Burdisso's son is indeed ill, then lets hope that his son gets better. He can stay with his son as long as he likes. ;)

I would definitely want the in form and fit striker to start, so CRUZ should definitely start this game, alongside Adriano.

Materazzi ---- Mihajlovic --- ?? I think that Gamarra would be better, even if he hasn't played for a long time. But it was kinda same case when he played against Juventus (last season) as well. Mihajlovic -- Gamarra would be better.

Ze Maria will play in the RB and J.Zanetti in the left, I am kinda sure.

Do we need to play with 2 DMs ?? For this match, I am not sure, coz we got a big problem in defence.

FORZA INTER !!

Porto will play an attacking game, so we just can't defend. We gotta use our weapons as well. And our defence also doesn't help us.

I think it's very essential to use Cambiasso-Cristiano in midfield. Porto has to attack and they'll have Diego and Maniche (good shot) there, so we can't let them control our half too much or let them to get good scoring chances. And we have seen that this midfield duo can resist opponent's attacks pretty well, at least compared to line-up where Veron is placed on the middle.

Of course we have to attack too, cause I'm afraid we can't keep clean sheet.

Mihajlovic at left back?

But, we are seriously lacking in defence for this match though. Even Mancini's golden boy, Favalli is not available. :depress:

This would be the line-up I want to see:

-----------------------Carini-------------------------
Ze Maria---Materazzi------Mihajlovic----J. Zanetti
Veron------C. Zanetti------Cambiasso-------Stan
----------------Adriano-----Martins-----------------

Miha used to play as a LW with Red Star in the hay days. His crosses and long balls made up for all the shortcomings.

The eyes of Europe will be on us today, we are the only teams playing today. Oh gosh, I hope that we put on a decent display and advance.

For those, who ain't able to watch match from TV there are huge amount of TV channels in net that show this match. I'm considering ESPN by coolstream. I tried some normal streams and atleast Tanjin-Sport, Rede-TV, RTS2 worked for me without problems. Get streams from calciolibero.it and don't be too late!

My preference:

----------Adriano--------Martins-----------------
---------------------------------------------------
-^----------------------------------------- ^------
-|------------Stankovic--Veron----------|-------
-|-------------------------------------------|-------
Kily--------------Cambiasso----------J. Zanetti--
-----------------------------------------------------
--------Gamarra----------Mihajlovic--------------
------------------Materazzi-------------------------
------------------------------------------------------
-------------------[Toldo]---------------------------

I would love this line-up. Now that we can't create decent 4-4-2, we have to use some imagination. And don't worry about Kily, he is excellent wingback. Stankovic and Veron would play quite centrally so that we can control the midfield, I'm sure our Argentinean wings can do a great job covering their flanks. And the most important thing is that every player actually plays practically in their natural position.

Oh well, I know I'm just dreaming and this wont happen.
