Ignoring his other issues, why would you want to swap one of the best goalkeepers around for an attacker who hasn't played a competitive match in over a year?

Alright hear me out.. I'm going to get a lot of hate for this:

Straight swap Onana for Greenwood.
Not hate, but a lot of confusion. Greenwood is rather talented but he's not worth Onana's shoelaces.

On paper there is no one better than Lukaku for what we can afford financially.

That being said I would have a very stern conversation with Big Rom/Chelsea on the following conditions that is non-negotiable

1) Salary reduced by 60%
2) 20M fee automatically based on KPI

Otherwise fuck off. And we get some pooft3r instead.

I don't know why people keep repeating that. The guy is expensive for our budget. If we bring him back and have a successful season the club want to bring him back again and probably make his loan permanent, and we would be left with another +30 years old with heavy salary (probably the highest earner in the squad). And if we fail the season, we have spent another significant part of our budget on this guy that we don't even own and we should look to replace him with no money again.

What's the likely scenario? Get him back again because we're gonna say there is no one better than him for what we can afford financially?!

Lukaku is the worst possible striker for Inter "survival" mode...

Lukaku is 25m annual cost -> 75m in 3 years. Too expensive for one on the wrong side of 30.

It is quite narrow-sighted to say no one is less expensive than him. We don't even have to find a currently better striker. 70-80% of Lukaku but younger is enough, spend the leftover on other positions, then we are stronger overall.

If we take Dembele for free, then we could take Djalo and Emil Holm from Dumbfries sale money.

Again - I said non negotiable.

Meaning the deal is to proceed on Inters terms. Otherwise it falls through.

There is nothing to lose for Inter in this deal.

Lukaku doesn’t go to a club where he feels comfortable and at his best, wastes away and is forgotten about. He must reduce his salary if he is to play with Inter.

Chelsea has no one else, so again take it or leave it.

Please spend our money on Balogun and not Lukaku. Take a bet on the future for once.. If we buy Lukaku and Balogun it honestly makes no difference we’re going to be challenging for the league and underdogs in the champions league regardless.

Only difference is one has potential to grow, future resale value and can serve us for many more years

The other is a diva, big game choker with no resale value. He deserted us in the past for money.

I really don't mind Lukaku staying, but in no fucking way I would want to see Correa in Inter shirt again. I'd at least loan him out and bring in a cheap option like Nzola.

An idea: keep some Inter's loaned guys and move them to the 3rd and 4th position, then maybe Correa will take the hint.

Balogun makes sense and he is not expensive, young and salary would be ok.Seems we can't get rid of Correa, so we will have Lautaro, Thuram, Balogun, and Correa . Younger and cheaper.

I do not see any reason to pay a massive fee (30+ mil) and pay out the highest salary in the team for a player no top side even wants. I don’t know if Balogun is the answer, but there are smarter ways to spend the type of money Chelsea are asking for.

I suspect Marotta's plan for Lukaku is to get him on cheap loan & lower wages with a 30m obligation to buy next summer. After Lukaku is a big success this season & at the Euro's next summer, Marotta will probably sell him to Saudi Arabia for big profit, and laugh at Chelsea.

Are you talking about Arsenal's player? Because I read that they want around 50mln for him. This is maybe not expensive, but definitely not for Inter.
