You're sad because you put on 2 kilos?

Ive gained 26 kilos in the last 3 years and switched into depression mod for 6 months, Inter with a final push could have got me in a dead body bag.

I've been working out again and lost 5 kilos since Frosinone's match. Aiming to get back in shape by March, hopefully.

I only have two gym days that I cycle over 3 days: Push, Pull, Rest and repeat.

I could take a month long break if I want and go back to benching the exact same weight as before, but for whatever reason, if I miss even 1 pull day, my next pull session becomes fucking disproportionately hard.

Gonna have a pull.

After hopeless effort to lose weight by low carbs and not successful (I even gained 4 kilos during the process), I decided to quit it and try a new method. I am a 1.82m guy and was 87kg at that time, now I am happy with 81. I would like to share some mistakes in the past.

Note: I didn't have time to do any workout. If you do it would be even faster.

- download an app to record your eating record, use it everyday.
- if you aren't sure about how much you eat, record it slightly excessively. E.g. if you eat a full cup of rice record it 1.5 cup, because you "cheated" a bit :p
- Healthy food doesn't mean you can eat as much as possible. All food has calories.
- I used to eat little rice and fill my lunch with fruit. My mistake. Two bananas are more than one cup of rice, but they don't make me full. Rice does. Why do I have to suffer the starving for worse?
- Peanuts. It seems healthy, but it is a damn calories monster. I picked them as "healthy food" during the day to avoid the hunger. Huge mistake.
- Sausage. Avoid it. I ate that a lot during my low carbs torture. 1 piece or you can eat 1 bowl of rice. Then see what makes you full more :D
- Cola light or other zero sugar soft drink helps a lot. It is painful to get rid of all sweet stuffs, use it to overcome.

In short: calorie control is all you need.

-Lots of Water

-U need Fruits & Almonds / Nuts, Even though they are high in calories. Healthy fats are good and fruit can also be used around ur workouts and as snacks.

How long were u in low carb for? hunger tends to go down the further ur body adapts to it.

I am not a nutrient expert, so I just tell what worked on my body and what not. Yes I read on Internet something similar to what you wrote (i.e. nuts and fruits) but the major difference (might be) that I didn't do any workout. Not even much walking.

I tried low carbs for 3 weeks, skipped my usual lunch with rice and replaced them with one can of nuts (200gr) or a lot of fruits. The other 2 meals were kept normal. Result: still hungry like hell and gain significant weight. I can't eat just enough fruits/nuts because I was hungry, and eating them excessively increased my weight. That process even re-triggered my gastric ulcer so I stopped it.

As soon as I got back to rice again, stopped nuts, and replaced fruit with salad, it is a lot better. To reduce weight just have to make sure that I consume less than 1800 cal /day. Two bowl of rice guarantees me getting full the whole day. The rest is for meat and some non-sugar coffee.

Having an ulcer is different, a doctor would have to tell you what to eat and what to avoid. Fat is in a lot of other foods but for me the easiest way to get it is from Almonds. A lot of people have issues with Bananas. I like Berries, especially since you can eat a lot of them since they dont have a lot of calories.

It sounds super easy but...impossible tbh. If you want to eat carbs, every other things are either sugar or fat. Unless you can live with only boiled lean meat... it isn't life anymore :yao2:

well if you grill it its without oil ... if you are on low carb, one meal with rice is enough and thats only time you need to watch out for not mixing it with fats

and i agree it is not life anymore :D :D

I switched from PPL to Upper - Lower about 1,5 month ago and I´m very happy about how I´m feeling so far. My legs in particular benefited a lot from being trained more often and are handling the extra load good enough considering I have knee problems.
Downside so far is that biceps and triceps don´t get that much attention but I don´t want to add another training day (it´d be 5 times/week at that point) just to address that. I´m going to start doing chin ups to get some extra biceps work on the upper days, dips would work well for more triceps work but they don´t feel comfortable on my shoulders if anyone have any suggestion on alternatives I´d be grateful, maybe diamond pushups?

The holiday season is approaching fast so time to get 3% more body fat in 15 days. Merry Xmas everyone.

For dips try having ur hands closer to ur body, like parallel and have ur elbows not flare out, that will put less stress on ur shoulders, but yah nothing else other than push ups that would be close to dips.

I know in general new year resolutions don't work so I don't even consider this one of those, it just happens to be around new year, but....

I intend to give up sweets for good. Completely, no chocolates, candies, chocolate bars, cakes, sweet pies and so on.
I'm just unable to keep myself within reasonable amounts of those things. I can stay away for 6 days but when the "cheat day" comes, I just completely abuse the stuff. And it really affects me, I sweat a lot in the evenings if I ate a lot of sweets, I am constantly nervous and stuff... you could say I feel restless. It obviously affects my bowel movements and the skin on my face really suffers.

So the reason I am writing this is basically to ask for advice: how do you replace the calories you get from sweets (which is just ridiculous amounts of sugar and fat) while keeping it "practical" throughout the day? I know rice and potatoes are a great source of carbs, I already eat peanut butter which can replace fats but what else?

Also, I know there are knowledgeable guys, and there are guys that like to argue about keto/carbs battle like Rasha and Candreva Crosses - please do state your opinions each of you if you find time, but I am not looking to start another re:re:re:re:reply battle between you guys (spotlight is on me here, not you guys :D )

Thanks whoever finds time to reply!!!

Why do you want to "get rid of sweets" but "replace calories"? You want to gain weight?

Strange question indeed, because calories is in everything you eat.

I think Nurko is taking about replacing the sweets with more healthy caloric options that tend to make u less hungry than sweets do.
