Jesus Gil is just exactly what Franco Sensi is to Roma, although Sensi has gotten his Scudetto.

Btw, I just wanna ask the Atletico fans (MoH ;)). Was he a popular figure among the fans???

What do you mean? Atletico also won the title, was it 95? And Sensi is nothing compared to Gil. Did you know that one season he fired the team`s coach 5 times?

I couldn´t believe it when I first heard about his death. :(

I'm sad to hear about Gil, he had an outburst two weeks ago against the results of Atletico and he sounded real upset. Also, Atletico won the title in the 95 season.

Oops. :embarass: I guess I shouldn't have spoken too much on subjects I don't really know. :embarass: Then that means that Jesus Gil is exactly like Franco Sensi. They have the same body posture (No offence intended), they're controversial, they openly crictisized the players/coach and they've been suggesting on referee's favouritism to the big teams.

Rest in peace Don Jesus Gil.

He is pretty much loved by the Vicente Calderon faithful; he wasn’t a footballer or some glamorous sport figure...A real estate tycoon to be exact, but couldn’t stop himself acting like a larger-than-life Atletico Madrid fan, so no one can really question his love for the club! He will surely be missed :depress:

To answer your question, yes he was! Specially when it comes to criticizing our rivals etc

Real self-destruct against lowly Murcia

MADRID, May 16 (Reuters) - Real Madrid's late-season implosion continued with a humiliating 2-1 defeat at already relegated Murcia on Sunday, a game in which midfielder David Beckham was sent off for insulting a linesman.

Combined with Barcelona's 1-0 win at home to Racing Santander, the result handed the Catalans the advantage in the race to secure runners-up spot behind champions Valencia and an automatic berth in the CHampions League group phase.

With one game left Valencia top the table with an unassailable 77 points, Barcelona are second on 72, two ahead of Real and four in front of Deportivo Coruna.

Unless Real post a huge win in their final match of the season against Real Sociedad, Barca only need to draw their game at Real Zaragoza to ensure they finish second.

It is the first time in their 102-year history that Real have lost four league games in a row.

Wow, quite a record they had.

I´m so glad they lost once again! It would be awesome to meet them (and beat them of course) in CL qualification round!

I watched that match up until the second Murcia's goal only and I thought Real were very unlucky. They dominated the game for around 10-15 minutes before the second goal and managed to create a lot of veyr good chances. And I can't believe I was watching Raul last night. He was a pale shadow of the old Raul. I'm glad they lost though. :D

Can we meet the in the qualifying round??? I'm guessing that the clubs will be classified to different groups (According to their past European performances) and the big clubs can't meet each other.

I watched this game and i was so happy to see Real looking so dejected :) Now Barca have moved into second place and this means automatic qualification for Champs league as long as things go well next week.

Honestly, i thought it was unfair for Beckham to be sent off.Maybe a warning for his second offence was okay. However, i was amazed when Zidane wasn't sent off when he headbutted a Murcia defender, RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE LINESMAN!!!Real really looked damaged and disoriented yesterday. And Queiroz really has to go.I can't believe he took out Real's most active player yesterday,Solari and put in Guti..Wassup with that?

Quieroz had obviously lost it and panic set in, I would be amazed if he is there next season. It was harsh of Beckham to be sent off just for swearing and I was reading about it today and how if he moves clubs that would b his last game for Real. It would b a sad end to his time there and personally i reckon he will stay for next season. Although on the weekend I did see a shop that was selling Chelsea shirts with Beckham on the back :D

I bet they are asking themselves why the hell did they let DelBosque go...and even Hierro with his slow speed could have helped.

C'mon Han.You've watched soccer for ages already. What's son of a bitch compared to a headbutt or a second bookable offence?Look at the premiership.Vulgarities are part and parcel of the game. I'm sure its the same in Spain and Italia where we don't get to see defenders scolding vulgarities at strikers while they're running at them. :)
Plus, you think the linesman understood English? He probably thought Beckham wanted to exchange jerseys with him :D

I'm not comparing the incident to any headbutt ot second bookable offence. I'm just saying that he deserved to be sent off for insulting the referee. If he insults a player (Not racially and no physical contact), it may be OK. But Beckham insulted the linesman and yes, he deserved to be sent off. If I remember correctly, Okan was shown a straight red card last season for insulting the linesman/referee (Can't remember who). It was against Chievo I think (Not sure).
