Juventus lost the title in the last round game against Perugia. Lazio won scudetto by one point.

There were heavy rain and the game was stopped for awhile but in the end Collina ordered the game to be played till the end and it ended 1-0 to Perugia.

Don't know what Conte has said though.

Yup, remember that, but I meant that after Juve won the scudetto in 2002, Conte mentioned something Materazzi did back then, was just wondering.

They exchanged some provocations, Materazzi telling him to go look after his hair 'cause it's missing or something like that. Google it, I'm sure it's possible to find it.

He (Materazzi) was one of those guys who you love because he obviously plays his heart out on the pitch. But one which other teams love to hate because he was such a cunt.

I didn't like his penalties or his fouls, and i especially disliked him for the zidane incident, but he really gave it all for Inter. Better than Lucio for me, not as good as Samuel.

I'm sure things as horrible as what he said have been said thousands of times on a pitch to opponents. Zidane should have been able to not lose his head despite whatever cuntish thing Materazzi said.

Yeah, but u know, reminds me of the Motta-Busquets incident. You never look at somebody the same after something like that happens. Felt a bit like cheating. Like a cheap tactic.

I think it is sad that a poster asks about a club legend and all they get is a few lines that are not very informative nor do they give the poster a real idea about Materazzi the player.

When Materazzi was on the field, he competed and gave everything he had for our colours. In my view, he is a true Interista. He loved the club, the fans and it showed when he played. More than anything, I loved Materazzi because he was tough defender and he sometimes mixed that up with some dirty play.

The best part about having Marco on the field is that opposition strikers knew they were in for a tough time and that he would do almost anything to stop them. I think that is quite different to our defenders today who lack presence. Opposition strikers would love the thought of playing against the likes of Ranocchia, Juan Jesus and Vidic because they are shit pushovers that are prone to mistakes.

Another great thing about Materazzi was his partnership in the centre of defence with Cordoba. They played well together and complimented each other’s skill sets. In my view that is something that is sadly lacking in our present central defensive duo. Ranocchia Vidic/Juan Jesus are equally as shit and ineffective as each other.

When Marco was on the field you were guaranteed some entertainment in the form of rough defending and man marking, tackles bordering on the reckless, or a goal. He was entertaining to watch and he played with passion. And then there was the cheek, such as the taunting of Berlusconi following a Derby victory.

In relation to the players you mentioned, and Legend status, I believe Materazzi ranks above all of them in terms of character. However, in terms of play, I believe Lucio and Samuel were better defenders.

Gone are the days where players had passion and character. When they loved their colours and said things how they saw them as opposed to worrying about how they may be perceived by the media or what their sponsors might think. Materazzi is a true Inter Legend.

Inter and world football still need players like our former 23.

I would like to add more..

Materazzi is not just a simple football player like many out there. Materazzi always plays the game. He intimidated opponent and played mind games. It sometimes seems like he is a brutal senseless player but he is actually a smart one. Regardless he plays from the pitch or on bench, he plays his own game. In fact, Walter Samuel followed Materazzi's way of dirty play in many games but Walter was a better player to actually get away with it. This is the reason (I believe) why Jose Mourinho did not get rid of him. Jose respected Materazzi and gave him an appearance on CL final and started him in the Coppa Final and last game in Serie A to win scudetto.

Materazzi was the one who was responsible in making many players became an interista. He was the reason why Samuel Eto'o is now an interista and becomes part of Curva Nord in some occasion. Materazzi was the one who convinced Andrea Ranocchia to play for Inter and fight for the colour. Materazzi actually handed his #23 to Ranocchia and saw him as Matrix successor. It is truly sad that Ranocchia lost his mentor before he became one.

Materazzi often talked to youngster in the dressing room, sitting beside them and give them mental support to settle and fight for our colours.

He is one of the most respected players in the squad despite he is not one of asado clan. He is the type of guy who should be employed as the team manager in this era when we're lack of fighting spirits. I appreciate what Figo, Toldo, Cordoba, etc have done for us but Marco has done much more for Inter and the way he was left out and kicked away from the club is disgusting.

Marco Materazzi is a legend. Bring him back and we will see more hearts on the pitch.

I absolutely love him.

And the best thing is that comunque vada he still has us in his thoughts, nobody from Inter commented about tuttosport and the number of scudettos thing but HE did and he also answered to Sacchi...

He is still here, still and forever part of Inter. ❤

Would love to see him come back to the club in some capacity. Surely there's a role he can help us with. I just don't think the club wants to be associated with the "bad side" of matrix. His reputation certainly proceeds itself.

That was a bit uncalled for. I am sure he is not favourite to many but his contribution to the club you presumably love cannot be denied.
