Nah, I don't buy the bollocks that is 'he's an asshole but he's our asshole'
There's a reason why I admire and respect Zanetti and Materazzi was and still is a truly a scum of the earth. His best quality was to provoke opponent players, says it all about him honestly.

When I think of Materazzi, I think of outstanding aerial ability, decent technique, and distribution. He was a tough defender and had the passion to show for it. True, he doesn't really suit the gentlemanly image of our club, but he contributed massively to Inter, was a force in the dressing room, and was a morale booster.

I fuckin hate this player, scumbag piece of shit.

WTH Man, he is the true Interista. Passionate & Commited, even if his dirty playing is some tradition from italian defensive school.

He was a good defender, but made too many needless fouls to be considered an 'awesome' defender.

lol what the fuck does 'true' interista means? are there any false interista players that I should worry about?

I fuckin hate this player, scumbag piece of shit.

Never liked him either, but chill, dude.

Yeah because Samuel's best attribute is to provoke opponents as well
I know a lot of footballers are not angels (Samuel included) but there's a difference between someone who mainly focuses on getting a reaction from the opponent than someone who might get caught up in the heat of the moment. Samuel like many defenders puts pressure on attackers and might over do it, especially in set pieces, but there are players like Materazzi who are by no means bad players but you could easily tell that they enjoy making misery to others (another example is fuckin Costa from Chelsea) using any and every dirty trick in the book and I've always despised these types of players.

Not hating, just not thinking he is a legend. I give props for how players played, not how much they loved the club.

I read a rumor that he physically attacked Balotelli after the Barca game. If true, that on it's own should be enough to tarnish his rep since Balo was a teenager then.

But really Samuel was a world class player and genuinely tough defender, way more hard tackler than dirty, unlike Matrix.

Yeah, I was never as pissed of at Zanetti, Cambiasso, Samuel, Cordoba and Maicon together as much as I've been mad at Matrix.

And Samuel is class above Matrix. It is known.

And all Interisti were satisfied about what Matrix did...

On the other hand, he is not a piece of a shit. He is so dirty on the pitch, but off the pitch he is a respected guy, which cant be said about a lot of footballers including the likes of Osvaldo, Balotelli, Barton, etc. His tackles were too much though. I personally admire him for his love for Inter and his commitment. If he wasnt part of Inter I would call him a piece of shit of course, though I can name about 50 more pieces of shit footballers.

Please do name them. Let me guess, 10 Juve players, 10 Real players, 5 Barcelona players, Balotelli, Barton, Gattuso...

I liked Cambiasso as a player, I didn't like the rumours about him controlling the dressing room. With Matrix, everything from that stupid Berlusconi mask, the Zidane incident, missing penalties that he shouldn't be the one to shoot anyway, stupid fouls and stupid cards, the confidence (which I like in a football player) bordering foolish arrogance.

He was one of those players that lowered the public opinion on our dear club. I'll take the Cambiasso comment about him being our cunt, but Matrix was a moron, even if he was a better player than Frog is now.

That piece of crap balo had just thrown the Inter shirt. Matrix was defending the club after it had been spat on...

Matrix was a true interista that sometimes let the red smoke get to him. Still an Inter legend and I liked the berlu mask and the zidane incident. True gamesmanship ;P

Dat Berlu mask tho :awyeah:

I'm not the biggest Matrix fan either tbh. Never a fan of his theatrics and passive aggression. And tbh he's not that good of a defender. His only great season was in 06/07 and other than that, he was just decent.

I feel as if some members are afraid to say they hated him because of his status in the club, lol I don't care what he has done for our club I judge players on their character as much as I factor in what they do on the pitch (and that's only me! Some don't care how players act outside of it and that's perfectly fine). The fact that he played for the club I adore is irrelevant, otherwise I'd just be a hypocrite.
To clarify I'm not saying everyone should hate him too because he is a dirty player, some (fucked up) people actually like that about him, or they justify it because of Inter in the same way that someone might justify a bad deed for a positive outcome which I don't support in most cases.

What makes Samuel a great player is that no matter how dirty he is he makes it looks clean. Perhaps you should look into Samuel's game more. I respect both players but if you're saying Matrix is dirty, Samuel is as dirty if not more.
