Why is everyone ignoring the fitness issue? He just came back from injury, and Ranieri has repeatedly said that he is not yet 100%

Me too, because I know once we finally do start buying good players he'll be the first to hit the bench..

Well, that's your opinion. I think, and based on the stats too, that he may not be Maradona (You expected too much of him) but he's productive even in his first season in the toughest league in the world, and you can see in his movements, that he has the class.

I only saw first half, but Obi is shit. He is barely Serie A starting material for team like Lecce, let alone us. He may have the heart of a lion, but he still runs around like a cornered gazelle. With no technical ability, no ball contorl, no passing.

Disappointed with this result. Again more proof that we do need an extra attacking option too, to provide width, unpredictability out wide without the attitude of Zarate.

Did we watch the same game? Obi was excellent in the first half and early in the second half. Time and time again he and Sneijder kept that fucking ball rolling, he did everything asked of him, he attacked, he tracked back, he even had time to totally dribble a Lecce player to death and cross the ball in the box. Milito was too tired to go for it and Pazzini just didn't believe enough to go for it either.

Not 100% yet? Then let him grab another 20mins, you don't have always to sub players on half time!
He decides his subs at home, long before the game begins, no matter what's the result, and I don't like it at all!

We needed Wesley there on 2nd half, he's still our only worldclass player left. Not 100% fit doesn't mean you must sub him on half time.

Maybe it is a time for everyone to take a reality check. We sre what we are, an average team with an average coach who has average players who will achieve average results. Until something changes in that chain of people then the chance to win titles again will be less than 50/50

the guy is 23 years old and played about 20 games, call him what you want but I think he's been doing pretty fucking well.

Why are you talking about other players. I'm only talking about Alvarez. Of course the others were also shit. Myself, yourself and everyone else already know that. My point is to stop trying to justify poor overall performances with a misleading stat. For what it's worth Kharja had a goal or two and a few assists as well, but like Alvarez, he was an otherwise completely impotent and frustrating player. While Alvarez deserves credit for those assists, as Nyall mentioned, those stats don't show us the less tangible things. When Sneijder plays for example, the whole team is visibly benefitted and more fluid etc. Regardless of whether Sneijder assists regularly or not, his overall contribution to the team is huge. Aside from the assists, Alvarez has been quite mediocre; poor even.

I think he's been below average and nowhere near class.. And nowhere near as good as everyone here seems to rave on about.
