chievo going down is ok, although siena wouldn't have mattered either.

it was important that toro stays up...next season derby against Giube should be a cracker.

Some of next season's derbies:

1. Inter vs Milan
2. Juventus vs Torino
3. Roma vs Lazio
4. Genoa vs Sampdoria
5. Palermo vs Catania

Chievo's president was crying after the game. :(

Siena. :yuck: :fero:

As I said, the zebras add nothing to Serie A, just like every season. :yuck:

No ofcourse atmosphere can be charged and even more than the derby...but derby itsel means game of 2 teams from same city. Catania and Palermo are different cities.

My name is Beka mate

I dont want to be a prick, beka but its not necessary for 2 teams from the same city to have a derby.

Example- Barcelona and Real Madrid, its the biggest Spanish derby.

Same goes for Inter-Jubentus, its Derby d'Italia. Speaking of which, it was called so because both teams had never been relegated, rite? So will it retain the name as Jube have been to the sewers?

derby d'italia was a special one.. the term derby is mostly used for 2 teams from a city, and the sicilians don't see palermo v catania as a derby, just a bitter rivalry..

No dont worry u are not a prick..let me explain... in spain they dont call it derby...its called el classico...

But as u said they call it derby D'ITALIA...so it says that is all italian game..but i think to call palermo catania derby is wrong..derby D'SICILIA??why not...

About jube...in reality it was called derby d'italia in the begining because we were the 2 teams that won the most(it was called derby d'italia in 1960s i think)..later after bbilan got relegated, we got another reason to support derby d'italia...Now I really dont know if we will still continue the derby d'italia...but probably on a club level juventus and inter are biggest rivals in italy..so then nickname is still usefull maybe

it's also called derbi (barcelona-madrid or juve-inter) but it's bad named derbi, the truth is that only the games of the same city are derbis, so juve- torino or atletico de madrid-real madrid

Good to see Reggina stay up, considering the odds stacked against them at the beginning of the season. I'm sure Fabio is ecstatic seeing he's from Calabria.... I think?

I was delighted to see Reggina stay up, as I think they were severely punished for their misdemeanours. It was a phenomenal effort for them to overcome their penalties.
Agree with the sentiments regarding Siena.......fairly lifeless sort of a club.

Although I'm Sicilian I also am happy to see Reggina stay up because they are a Southern Italian team. Calabrese and Sicilians are very alike. Catania is staying too, amazing.

Gennaro Gattuso has had enough of listening to the Inter players and directors 'whine' about the banner held by Massimo Ambrosini during the celebrations on Thursday evening.

"I can't take it anymore to listen to these things," the international midfielder declared during the television program 'Lunedi di Rigore'.

"We said we're sorry because we all did something wrong, however, speaking for the whole team, we accept nothing.

"Inter cannot teach us how to behave. Moratti forgets the umbrella gesture, he forgets what they did at Valencia; we don't accept that they teach us something."

Gattuso was particularly angry at Marco Materazzi's words.

"He must stop it as well, because he didn't become Jesus Christ..."

Ringhio went back to attack Inter President Massimo Moratti.

"What does it mean that 'the players will not forget'? What are these threats? We always say that we have to be careful at how we behave, also for the fans.

"What else must we do? We must go in the streets to say that we were in the wrong? In Italy we forgive people who did much worse things... Do I have to walk it till Germany?

"We're coming from a year where we've been hearing the 'Scudetto of the honest ones'; for me that I play football this is heavy, when I played I never noticed that the others were doing us any favours," concluded an angry Gattuso.

Its a fun read.
I cant believe Gattuso is comparing Mestalla to the Simpsons gesture, which Ambrosini did. Mestalla was Valencia's fault much more than ours, what happened was in the heat of the moment. Milan players acted like idiots on the tour bus, while celebrating their CL.

Does anyone know what Matrix said about the incident, that has Gattuso so pissed off?

Pretty stupid from Ringhio. Italian camp is going to be tensed if this is not another news said with a grinned face(Inzaghi - it was not a fluke; Kaladze - I'm leaving since Maldini extended and I can't get any first-team appearances).

Edit: this argument has been in these forums over and over and I don't want to call it up but here's what James said:
"Milan (-8), meanwhile, finished up in the top four and winners of the biggest trophy in club football."
