except if he starts all 3 of Audero, Sanchez and Stabile against Atletico, I don't see how could Inzaghi fuck up the starting line up

hopefully he does the subs fast enough if we lose the grip on the game, but other than that, I'm pretty sure Inzaghi knows how hard this game will be

I don't care if we are respected by casuals, I want to know we won't be in financial ruin. That is the main reason why I want Inter to win and progress. I rather cheer for a competitive and financially healthy/ier club than for a quick flash of respect. The 09/10 Inter has respect and we all know that wasn't enough to keep the club from financial struggle and bad choices for the next 6 or 7 or 8 seasons.

Now we are back. Respect will come either way, but if we fall again like we did, all this building of a team will be almost for nothing. I rather have a long dynasty than another Trippletta season and a decade of failure and bad transfers.
I think somebody already explained this. It's about money and prestige that comes with this. Not about a casual guy on twitter (or even worse...trolls that will hate whatever the situation is...somebody gave example about 2010 and "catenaccio") writing comments. I imagine that barely any undecided kid got excited by Lautaro scoring against Milan in semifinal. We need win or two against bigger opponents. We got some respect because of last season but if we are out against Atletico that will just turn to be a story about one fluke season with easy draw.

Based on Serie A performance? As far as I know we didn't finish top of the CL group stage.

Just wait until beating ATM before getting cocky ffs.
Serie A performence is way more relevant than what happened in December or what happened last season when we had a different squad.

And it doesn't matter if we beat Atleti or not, they are very good team also and they can beat the best team in the world, they done it twice this season.

But yeah, Inter is one of the best teams in europe **atm** and we should enjoy it.

Dont care what or how, I just want a win and by 2 goals.

My gut tells me likely be 1:1, or going to us 1:0.

We stand a good chance of winning. The Atletico games I paid most attention to recently were in the group section against Celtic. At home Celtic were able to open them up with quick passing moves. As mentioned above, they are not a physical, attritional side so much these days (although still good at time wasting and moaning at the referee).

Admittedly there may not be the same element of surprise at the Meazza, and a knock-out tie will always be more cagey, but I think our counterattacking style will be effective.

That's via your black blue glasses tbh.

Being eliminated round 16 again when facing a tough team (after Liverpool) and claiming "one of the best" is as hilarious as Bbilan fans discussing Scudetto. Even more so after many years never get past the group stage.

Sorry to burst the bubble...but Milan and Juve or Napoli are not respected in Europe. Winning them in Serie A makes little resounding. ATM-calibre or above is what matters.

No, this is me as a football fan who sees every major league in Europe. Liverpool and Bayer are not even in CL and yet they are also one of the best this season imo. On the other hand, Milan 06/07 was the best team in europe? Chelsea 11/12?

Stop thinking that CL results = team ability, it has nothing to do with it. Inter 23/24 is a great team, way better than PSV/BVB or Bayern/Lazio that will be in the QF. Again, enjoy it instaed of thinking "Serie A team are not respected in europe". Who cares?

CL is more to mentality and grab the moment. We have a coach who is quite capable (lucky) in those competitions, but our players should not underestimate Atletico.

No one should underestimate Atleti, they are great team with great players, but imo we are better.

Sure,we are playing great. Maybe even the best football in Europe at the moment. But you can claim shit if we are out in this round. Doesn't matter anymore. You can either prove that on the field against the best teams or shut the fuck up.

Why are twitter posts suddenly in weird format on the forum...EDIT: Looking ok now.

Money talks. You or FIGC don't care but we (they) are pissed poor for a reason. Marketing sponsorship attraction TV revenue or such don't come much from Italy, but outside.

They don't read your convincing words on this forum "why Inter should be respected" lol. We need winning against real big names to draw attention. ATM is one. Or even overrated Premier League sides would bring more fame than our beggar neighbors.

Bold: it is, lol. Winning shit in CL = not the EU best. Scudetto only = Italy best. By definition.
