Man, Jassem Al-Howaidi shouldn’t have retired; he had 63 goals in 74 caps! Stupid KFA! (He was only 29!!! And a year before that he one Fifa’s top scorer award)

Gaëtan von Hamed said:
Am I the only one who heard a rumor that either RVN and/or the rest of the Dutch team are unhappy with Robben because he didn't pass enough?

This is what I was talking about:

DUTCH winger Arjen Robben has been warned by teammate Robin van Persie that he cannot win the World Cup on his own.

This even after Robben scored the only goal of the match from a Van Persie (right) pass in a match-winning performance against Serbia and Montenegro last night. But van Persie, who was left largely in the role of spectator after seeing almost none of the ball on the right wing, said: 'Together we hope to play six matches (in the World Cup) and that he can't do all by himself.

'He must take into account his teammates. Sometimes he makes decisions for himself and not the team.'

Coach Marco van Basten moved swiftly to recognise that the Dutch approach had been unbalanced and said he would correct it.

'Our game was too concentrated on the left-hand side because Arjen was in form but that was to the detriment of van Persie on the right wing.'

But van Basten was at least able to appreciate Robben's skill last night.

Arjen is a huge talent, but I'm glad that van Persie stood up for himself and told him that he isn't god's gift to earth. Perhaps he'll be more mellow and unselfish.

Man, those Dutch love to shoot themselves in the foot. Every single time they come with an internal controversy to undo their great play.

They have always lacked a leader since Cruyff.

gotta love gazzetta dello sport:

..Ali Karimi never got into the match and Ali Daei (who Ivankovic calls a National Monument, probably because he doesn't move on the pitch) was a dead body

These Portuguese friends have not rested from our double raid in their homes:p

It says Defensive Football Stayed Home underneath... Another thing that stayed home is the European Trophy, but we do not care about that :p:p

From Roberto Mancini:

Who will win the World Cup?
"Portugal."

I hope his right, out of all the captains i want to lift the trophy... Beckham and England is a no-no.

Sorin :yuck:
Cannavaro :Finger:
Cafu :lala:

So for me it should be Figo, an Inter player.

I hate Portugal as much as I hate Juve because their fans are ignorant morons that think C Ronaldo is god and that their country will win the WC because they can slaughter teams like Luxembourgo.

CANNAVARO CAPITANO :star:

We (I) don't think that Cristiano Ronaldo is "god" or even the best "Portuguese" player (Deco), however anyone in the World can see that C. Ronaldo (when he wants) can be a good/great player.

Portugal had a quite good qualification with 3 draws and 9 wins, an easy group you might say, but we are here and we are going to try and do our best. Also I don't think Portugal can win the World Cup, we will probably face Netherlands or Argentina in 2nd phase and we will be lucky if we get through, but everybody is allowed to dream.

Pi is right about Ronaldo, all he ever does is one stupid trick that is rubbish. What an overated one trick pony he is. I think Portugal look good for this WC and Figo was awsome even though it was only Angola. Pauleta will always get goals and i think they are gonna do well. If they play Holland in the next round, they will beat them no problem.

Portugal has improved since last match, when Deco plays there's another mentality in the team, C. Ronaldo was better and Figo was good.

About the game, it seemed to me that Iran wasn't that much interested in winning the game. Portugal dominated most of the game and then the score was opened with a great goal from Deco, a great shot.

After this, Iran came up and they could have scored, with some good moves and quick passes Iran caused some problems to the Portuguese (weak) defence, mainly through the Portuguese left side.

However Portugal was presented with a fake penalty and we scored, 2-0, the game was over, after this Portugal could have scored one more but it wouldn't be fair at all to Iran.

Good things: Deco, C. Ronaldo not overreacting when he got fouled and Figo showing a good physical condition.

Bad things: Portugal's defence and defensive movements, Pauleta, the referee.

I missed all but the last 5 minutes of the game. In any case, Portugal are going well and will surely win the group.

Mehdi, I know you weren't impressed with him last time around, but I saw two outstanding tackles by Kaabi on C Ronaldo. I know Ronaldo is a clown, but there are two way he can be stopped: his stupidity and a smart defender (like Ashley Cole.) I think Kaabi has a great future ahead of him.

Once again, tell me more about him? :D

I don't see Portugal like favorite wins World Cup. They won 2 games, right! but it didn't convince me that them have team to arrive at final.
