For what it was, I thought it was a good episode, a thing we expected (also in the books) how it will end, more or less
Jon Snow doesn't have a life sentence per se tho, he's a full fledged wilding now, a Mance Rayder basically
I still feel the books will do something completely different with how the wall falls, how Jon Snow is resurrected and how they deal with Night's King (or just the Others), because it would be extreme bullshit to just win a battle and that's it. And yeah, no way he can write all this in 2 books. He should just release whatever he has up to this point.
But now I got my confirmation and it makes sense. If we talk book-wise. Show-wise, the writing is made so that even Americans can get what is going on.
