I see a bunch of people are posting about this we should have a separate thread for it.

Has any one read the books? I think a lot of people will be pissed off at the end of this season. Its why I stopped reading them. Or maybe its the next book.... :D

Motherfucking finally. Forza Game of Thrones. I'd rate shows like Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad or House of Cards way higher, but I don't know... this show has sth to it that keeps me watching for some reason.

I personally don't give a fuck about spoilers. I go read about that shit all over the internet cuz I wanna know what will happen. Waiting week after week, year after year is just way too long for me. & that dude doesn't want to finish the books any time soon either.

So here are some stuff I'd like to say about the characters:

- Little Finger is creepy as fuck. I'll never forget how he betrayed the glorious Ned Stark. Varys on the other hand is more likeable to me.
- Jon Snow is 8055 & my only hope. I read somewhere that his mother was someone important, like some Targaryan I guess.
- Grande Tyrion. That little man is 8055.
- Deep down sth tells me that I'll like the White Walkers too afer we saw what they do to them baby boys.
- Grande The Hound. I hope he puts his strong physic to some good cause. Arya should stop bitching about him being a bad guy. Because deep down I think he's a good guy.
- Cercei is the biggest cunt on the show. I'd even see her as a bigger cunt than that other cunt, Joffrey.
- Jamie is a twisted fuck too for giving her own sister the D, but has some good qualities in him also.
- Fuck Theon. Everything he is getting is deserved.

I had high hopes for Khaleesi getting to Kings Landing & let the dragons go apeshit but was very disappointed to find out that she'll almost lose everything trying to rule over these cities she conquered. The dragons go wilder & she completely loses control over them. I guess she only manages to escape with Drogo (the biggest, dark dragon) & end up in the middle of nowhere among some Dothrakis.

Basically from the stuff I read, I think everybody will either die or end up fucked up. Arya goes blind, Tyrion ends up in the middle of nowhere once he escapes from Kings Landing this season & meets Ser Jorah who has been abandoned by Khaleesi. Tywin dies this season, Cercei ends up in prison after she fucks everything up as the ruling queen.

Yeah... so I don't know y'all... the way things look right now, everything will end pretty fucked up. Unless that dude starts writing new books & fix shit up.

Who is Johns dad? The book makes it obvious he isn't Neds. It's needs sisters with either King Robert or Daenerys Targaryen brother that "kidnapped her".

What's the opinion of the guys who read it? The books are kind of hard to follow as the characters have similar but confusing names.I had to write down on a piece of paper who everyone was and scratch them off when they died haha

As for Ned he was too much of a goody too shoes and deserved what he got for being a little bitch!!!

Do you really want me (or somebody else) to spoil stuff? I ain't spoiling shit. Either watch the show or start reading the books.

Also I don't understand the name of this thread? If we are talking about the books, it's A song of ice and fire.....and if we are talking about the tv series, it's GoT. And GoT is not the same as Asoiaf... I already see the differences. Minor, but some, still.

Who is Johns dad?

I was under the impression that we always knew his dad is Ned, but we don't know shit about his mom.

Do you really want me (or somebody else) to spoil stuff? I ain't spoiling shit. Either watch the show or start reading the books.

I personally do watch the show but many stuff aren't revealed on the show, like the question crzd raised. So starting reading the big ass books just to have a simple question answered is too much effort tbh. Hence the purpose behind the thread.

So why not contribute with the knowledge you have instead of having the go-find-it-out-your-own attitude?

Ok then start asking questions

What is revealed in the show is more or less the same as in the books. It's either explained or it's not. But believe me - a few things why I'm a fan...

1. Best written books I've ever read.
2. Loving the story, backstories and the characters.
3. POV chapters, something that can't be done on the TV screen.
4. Big ass books and a breathing, believable big world.
5. Martin has balls to kill main characters and has a gritty style that works.

Look, I'm not trying to be a douche when I say that I really recommend reading this. You go buy those paperback books for 9 eu and you can read one book for the whole year if you want to, if you think time is a issue.

The only bad thing about the books is that two books are still to be released.

I'll try to answer the crzd questions.

I have read the books and they do not say who Johns parents are. It leads you to believe it is Ned in the show but even then it doesn't seem like he would be dishonorable and bag a random. Dude was just too much of a boy scout. He and Theon really deserved what they got for being so stupid.

In the book it much more obvious that John is not Neds son but someone else's.

The books are the Song of Ice(John) and Fire(Daenerys). Did a future book reveal who Johns parents are?

What are you talking about, it is Ned......his mother is the girl that rowed Ned to safety when he was fleeing back to Winterfell to call his banners to help Robert's Rebellions, it's all in the 5th book. Davos (Stannis' hand) hears the story from a northern I don't remember city, but right before he makes it to White Harbor.

Edit: Unless I'm missing something in the last 100 pages of the story

"Fans of the series speculate about his parentage, with a large number believing that his true parentage is likely to be Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen."

That would be a hell of a bomb if it was true. Takes shit to a whole different level.

I've only read the first two books, but I too don't think it's likely that Ned is Jon's father.

Plus it just makes sense that Jon and Danny are linked as they'l obviously be involved in the end game.

Well Martin would make you think that is true. I'm always ready for a twist. Or Dany and Jon being two of the three dragon heads. But since that (that being three dragon heads) isn't even mentioned in the tv show, I kinda doubt it right now.

Ice can also be White Walkers (a.k.a. Others) and Fire anybody that is going to fight them.

Okay so fifth book finished, I won't go into what I think yet because we have a curious conversation going on right now. After reading up on the theories about Jon's parents, it's definitely plausible that he is Rhaegar's child. However, I'm not 100% convinced.

I do remember reading that chapter about Ned going to recover his sister from the Tower of Joy and I remember being super curious about it. The tourny of harrenhal was pretty much what started the rebellion when Rhaegar took Lyanna. Also he (Rhaegar) did not return to the King's Landing till after the Battle of the Bells, which if I had to guess, was 3 months after? The war from that point was said to last an entire year. Since the siege of Storm's End started right before that battle (and Stannis loves to talk about how he held the city for more than a year).

Ned didn't go to get Lyanna till after the sacking of King's Landing and after lifting the siege of SE. In the chapter where he remembers all this, he states that he got there as she was dying in a "bed of blood." If that is referring to the birth of Jon Snow, then it's definitely too long of a time frame since she was last with Rhaegar.

Again I could be wrong :) and maybe the battle of the bells was months after the siege started, although I don't think that's true :D

Also referring to the three dragon heads. If Jon & Dany are 2 of the three. The third would be Aegon? Wouldn't it?

Depends. Is he the real Aegon or is he from the Blackfyre branch? Maybe neither.

My favourite crackpot theory is that Meera Reed and Jon Snow are twin siblings. But that's a bit too far.

And congrats. You've just read one of the best epilogues ever. :datass: Varys

And also this epilogue is another indicator of a possible Blackfyre somewhere near

Idk why they would both want a Blackfyre on the throne? According to the story we know, Elia gave Varys the baby and replaced him with a shitty one, right? Connington raised the kid the whole time as well, which is another matter, but the point is that I don't think he would do that for a Blackfrye. Then again, it's not likely they would tell him.

Also, I always thought Ice & Fire were in relation to swords lol. Fire being Azor Ahai's firesword (Lightbringer). And well I suppose Ice could've been Ned's, ironically right now the wielders of the two swords that make up the steel from Ice are riding together heh.

I forget what book it was in but Ned and Lyanna were talking about Robert and she says that he would never be just satisfied with her. He was going to cheat on her. It kind of made it seem like she didn't want Robert and ran away with Rhaegar.

She also tells Ned a secret that he never tells anyone about. John is either Roberts or Rhaegars. Makes more sense he is Rhaegars because Ned would have just told Rob that Jon was his kid. He was also scared to tell Rob about Joefrey because he would have killed him for not being his.
