Problem is we buy Arnautovic first. Then try to offload Correa, that doesn’t works. And we have so stick with Lautaro, Thuram, Arnautovic and Correa. Which is a very depressing forward line imo. No way we can compete for Scudetto with this attack and our current defense. No matter how good our midfield wil be.

Just stop talking about Scudetto. We will give it a valiant effort, but at the moment the most important thing is to not lose too much money this season and get the right pieces next summer to go for the Scudetto. It sounds depressing, but that's the reality right now.

Our defence looks worse than how it looked at the start of previous season. We did kinda look good against the attacking flow of PSG, so maybe I'm overreacting because of the weather and other factors, BUT we have to temper our expectations.

Before I was all up for Balogun, but now I think we need to spend differently. Our wingbacks are mostly okay, midfield will boss (Hakan is a bit of a mystery), our attack will figure it out (keep Sensi!!), but our centerbacks...yikes. Poor Sommer.

Fully agree we should stop talking about the Scudetto for this season. We have to put in our full effort to qualify for the new CL format next season. We have tough competition for that too. Roma, Atalanta, Milan, Napoli, Lazio and Jube. Imo they are not less then us atm.

But next summer it will be the same situation all over again. What do we have to build on to? Acerbi, Darmian and de Vrij are another year older. Our midfield will be better given all the players actually develop. Arnautovic will be 35 and Correa will still be here. Oh yeah and we probably have to sell before we can buy…

Demoting some players (either Darmian or Acerbi or hopefully both) to a bench role and buying a beast RCB/CB.

I'm sure we'll have the money to buy one 30mil-ish CB without us needing to sell anybody for other than lowering the wage bill to easily accomodate the new signing.

I'm hoping we can do the right moves for us to only buy a CB and a striker next season and that's it.

Next season a scudetto is even a less likely objective, reason is that unless the club is sold within the next 10 months or Zhang magically find a hidden chest with gems and gold. Then we will see at least one of our best players with high market value being sold. Because it will be the only way Zhang can pay off his loan that is due next summer. If that player is Martinez or Barella you can wave goodbye to all chances of a Scudetto even top 4 might be a challenge without an actual capable goalscorer.

For this team to have a shot at top 4 requires an actual capable team. Something we will not very likely have if Zhang is our owner in 10 months. Zhang will sell everything with an actual value it’s either that or Oaktree take charge over this club, because the Zhang family are neither allowed by the Chinese party or capable of paying off the loan in any other way.

I know some ignore this reality, but there is a loan due next summer. You honestly think Zhang isn’t selling everything he can too keep his assets, you think he cares about Inter, no he cares about not loosing his assets.

Reality is Zhang made a deal with the Devil a very unfavourable deal, we are now stuck with this bloodsucking leech we can’t get rid off, you think that doesn’t have negative consequences.

It has nothing to do with all you write, but the financial deep shit this club is in, the club run with massive deficits season after season and have now a loan due next summer, a loan that can only be paid by selling assets.

This has nothing to do with Conte, Inzaghi nor the players but the financial issues this club is in. Poor financial state of any club will eventually have severe consequences if it’s not dealt with, you cannot run on an empty tank for very long.

It’s not written in the stars Inter is a top 4 club, have you forgotten the 6 years without CL football! If you don’t have the finances to compete but are forced to sell out you won’t be a top team. It requires actual resources to stay at top, but this club is running in red.
