Hehe, I have actually seen him, when Romania was here in Norway.

I'm pretty sure that Chivu is not over 1.80.

ok, fair enough, but I doubt websites like Roma's official one would lie about his height.

MILAN - Besides the agreement with Chelsea for the renewal of the two-year loan of Juan Sebastian Veron, FC Internazionale Milano have finalised two other transfer market operations. The co-ownership of Goran Pandev (pictured) between Inter and Lazio has been renewed until 30 June 2006, while Chievo have agreed a deal to buy Franco Semioli outright.

Is Semioli a defender? I think I remember reading somewhere that he is. So is he good? and does this deal say that we sold him? 2mins ago I read that we decided to buy him.

I hope Moratti wil buy Chivu and Samuel both.

I've seen Chivu many times playing for Ajax, and he's a world class defender. No doubt about it. And he's young, Walter Samuel is an word class player to, and more experienced, but he's old, so It would be stupid to buy 'Il Muro', and not Chivu.

Semioli is a winger, not a defender. ;)

Samuel isn't that old. He's in his prime at 27. I like Chivu but he's been injury-prone for Roma the whole season. Do we want another Cannavaro?

Samuel would be the first choice but if we can't get him chivu is the second choice. There is nobody else good enought and available this summer.

Either 1 will do fine.

Actually between Chivu, Andrade and Alex, I'm really not sure who I'd pick.

King would be better than all of those.

Placente is going to Roma? Interesting. Though Kuffour is really just in to replace Ferrari who is on his way out.

Placente is damaged goods, that's why he might go to Roma. It's funny, Bayern wouldn't re-sign him after their doctors said NO, he said Everton is better than Roma, but I wonder why they didn't sign him. Roma are becoming a circus! Like father like daughter.

About Samuel, we should be pleased Real are even listening to us. I was just fantasizing about this rumor earlier, I didn't imagine that Real would even consider selling him.

And now that that happened, we must get him at any cost. And to those who think paying about $16M for him it too much I say, great CD's don't come for free.

Milan paid $30M for Nesta, Juve paid over $20M for Thuram, Leeds and ManU broke records to sign Rio. If we think we can get him for cheap, then we are in dream land.

We have to settle this issue once and for all. How many frustrating years have we spent looking for a tall CD? How many great players did we pass on because they were 'expensive'?

I am S-I-C-K of this annual situation. Not only we have to deal with Juve and Milan cheating, we have to deal with our management IDIOCY :fero:

We can't let this thing drag for too long. Don't be shocked if a team enters in the middle and steals Samuel. We are good at making players available, bitch about their price only to see others get him. And it was us who started negotiating for Carvalho!

And what do we do at the end? Go and pay $20M for a druggie.

Very bad news.

Is Rio still available or he has resolved his situation with ManUtd? We must not just place all our eggs in one basket.

If we apparently can't agree on a deal for Samuel for $16M, do you think we have a chance with Rio?

Contmplating the idea won't hurt and Rio has been far better than Samuel so it would be easier to justify in my eyes. But that is just me.
There are other options and we should not just focus on one player if negatiations are about to stall. As I said before I don't want us to place all our eggs in one basket.

Frisko has mentioned King, I would be happy with him as well as with Yepes (PSG). There are good defenders out there, the management needs to realize that.

I wasn't against your opinion Vic, I was for Rio as well, but we will not get him.

And forget about King, what did he prove? And we will not get him.

Samuel has Serie A experience, and is cheaper than both options, and still it seems things aren't going smoothly with that.

For the life of me, I can't understand why anyone would want defenders like Rio or King (who we're not linked to, at all) ahead of players like Samuel, who arguably the best Serie A coach at the moment, and one of the greatest of all time in Capello said that he was the best defender he'd seen.
Must be getting too old.

After we were linked with Samuel, I gave up on both. Rio was kind of attainable with the stall in the negotiating. But if we can't get Samuel, we surely can't get Rio.

I am just worried it's dragging a bit for Samuel. I don't want to base my judgement on the rumor talk, but if we don't want to pay Real $16M for El Muro, then I don't know what we are doing?
