If Gasp was a "versatile" coach he would use rotations, personal and tactic-wise. But he probably never deployed 4-4-2 or at least 4-3-3 before.

Prefect balance right here. Cambiasso will play as the holding DM, Obi will be the box2box and Ricky will be the technical CM. When we play with Deki-Cambiasso-JZ, there's way too little mobility. It's also a huge problem when none of the midfielders can pass and dribble, now we have 3 solid passers, 2 with good mobility and 1 with very good speed and strength.

I prefer Naga on the LB position because he offers more attacking options than JZ, but Il Capitano will still get a lot of playing time. Either as a sub and as a rotational player.

The Tevez-Forlan duo has huge potential imo, much stronger than anything we have atm (I count Forlan as an Inter player already). We have two ST's that can create something for themselves, rather than hoping Forlan becomes as good as Eto'o. Then there's also Pazzini, who I prefer coming off the bench tbh, since he doesn't offer much in build up.

This looks very good on paper, but how will it look like on the field? Only time will tell. I just hope Gasp tries it out.


As we all know the 4-3-1-2 isn't as effective outside of Europe, so I came up with a formation that's very similar to our CL winning formula.

Basically the same formation/tactics, but with different wingers.

Obi can easily offer way more than Pandev, both in attack and defense, while Tevez can be as good as Eto'o in our CL campaign. Tevez isn't good on the wing? I know it's not his best position, but Eto'o wasn't good there in his first season either, but we won because of his workrate. If there's anything we know about Tevez, it's that works hard...even when he plays as a lone striker for City he goes back deep, so he won't have much to complain about.

The main concern is the midfield, since we don't know how the Motta-Cambi duo would play together now, since neither really haven't had a good game since the Treble season. But in their defense, though, they have been both played out of position with 2 coaches now. Worth trying.



Tevez really shouldn't be that hard to get, I mean...if we can't get a player that wants to leave from a team that doesn't need him, then we really need to look for a better director. :lol:

I am saying this because I do believe pazzini will thrive in the CL if he gets adequate service and wes,maicon,tevez and forlan can all give him tht...

After reading MM's interview I am optimistic Gasp will switch us back to 4 defenders...but man the addition of tevez would be a huge up grade in quality to the squad no shit...

Branca needs to get it done...comon marco :hopeful:

Meh, depends on whoever is playing better atm. Like I said, I prefer Forlan since he offers more beside just scoring, but Pazzo could do better consedering the way we would play.

Nah, Obi is much better in defense, and is much faster. Imagine Forlan vs a fast wingback...:|

After Moratti's interview it's obvious that Gasperini has to change his system because it sounds like a warning.. He is obviously down for the count. Grande Moratti :slick:

hello to all, i am new to this forum and hope to be a regular going forward.

i know there is a lot of talk of this formation and that formation, but lets face it - inter will play a 3-4-3 or a variation of that as long as Gasperini is there FACT so lets get behind that..

Gasperini isn't a dumb coach and he knows what are the strengths of this team and that is sneijder and the aging maicon... they are still probably our best two players now that eto has left and will walk into the best XI. To accommodate sneijder, we will have to probably change to a 3-4-1-2 formation similar to the one used at beijing where sneijder had a free role behind the front two.

The front two will probably start with milito and pazzini to start with and forlan will challenge them... i prefer a pazzini - forlan front two as forlan can drop back and gather the ball unlike the other two.

The reason our backline is conceding goals isn't because of the formation.. is because our 2 central midfielders are lazy. we have played motta and stankovic throughout pre-season and i am confident once cambiasso returns to fitness, our problems will be fixed as he will sit infront of the back 3. Motta or Poli will start alongside him to add the passing skills out of defence or even play zanetti there to add consistency. Out at LM... i think the choice is simple.. Obi has been a relevation so far and we shouldn't stop here.. continue playing the kid.
This means a spot on the bench for alvarez who has not impressed me at all preseason and seems to be adjusting still. Give him time!
I still think inter can challenge for the scudetto and a quarter final place in the CL is my minimum expectation.

Even with chivu, our team doesnt look half bad if we sign forlan and one other forward, a CB would be a plus... but is that likely? :yao: but either way we have a solid chance at competing on all fronts i believe, its in GASP's hands tho no matter how you slice it! We have enough stars and decent and youthful reinforcements! lets hope fora good ear

dude, we had a very similar lineup last year, but with 37 goals from eto'o, and still failed to win the league.
