He was shaky and unsure in the first half, but I also don’t think any of the goals were primarily his fault:

1st goal— De Vrij doesn’t step out in time (which is hilarious because he was trying to get the whole line to push up only seconds earlier).

2nd goal— Made a poor clearance but ultimately an Asllani disasterclass.

3rd goal— you can argue he could have made himself bigger and cut out the cross, but it also took a weird deflection off Augusto.

I was thoroughly impressed with his second half performance however. Had a few tricky situations to deal with and was up to the task every single time. Hope he continues to develop and earn some minutes.

I also don't think that he was so bad in the first half. It was SDV's mistake to cover the offside for the opener, and for the second goal Bisseck was unlucky with the clearance. He did some wrong passes as well iirc.

Anyway, he deserves more playing time, especially now with Pavard out. Of course vs Napoli, we shall field the best 11, but I'm speaking in general.

I think he was fucking terrible in the first half and more or less fault or part-fault in all goals. Ball-watching or just poor plays. Then massive improvement in the second half.

Inzaghi should give him more minutes specially to rest Pavard and play Darmian as RWB if Cuadrado is not available.

imo he was involved in all three goals for Benfica. He was very sleepy and he lacked aggressiveness.

But anyways, he is really great with the ball and with his forward runs. He needs to improve in defensive phase and then he could be very useful defender.

He looks like a Dumfries type of player. Has the physique but is really raw in terms of off the ball and tactical intelligence. He needs a lot of polishing but showed that its worth a try.

I was watching the match on Sky Italia and Bergomi multiple times pointed out his ball watching tendency as very concerning. Not just in the goals but also in some of the crosses that Benfica failed to capitalize Bergomi was saying that the defender should not let the ball go through but anticipate and clear out the area

He has a good approach towards movement forward but he seem to lack some proper italian defending awareness that hopefully can be teached

Impressed with his ball skills. He can pass and move the ball really well, which is an essential element for his position. He was involved in Benfica’s goals but at the second half he made a world class block.
