I hope that we'll see this:

-------------------J.Cesar--------------------
-----------------------------------------------
Maicon---Cordoba------Materazzi---Burdisso
-----------------------------------------------
--------Zanetti---Dacourt---Maxwell---------
-----------------------------------------------
------------------Stankovic-------------------
-----------------------------------------------
------------Crespo-------Ibrahimovic--------

We won't need a real LB (we won't need Grosso), because Maxwell is on the left side, and Burdisso will defend there and give Maxwell more time to go forward.

I'm not sure leaving Grosso out is a good idea.
I have no doubt that Maxwell is in a better form, but we do not have a deadball specialist right now. I believe that having Deki as a corner kicker is a huge waste, considering his ability to take second chance on loose balls.

burdisso in left back isnt good,i say we play maxwell as a left back, stankovic plays in the middle along with dacourt and zanetti and play figo as an attacking midfielder,or yes play grosso as a left back and burdisso moves in the middle along with materazzi....but we need cordoba....but yes burdisso as a left back shouldnt be an option.

Thats the problem. I prefer Burdisso as LB than Figo on the pitch. :D

Exactly my point. At the start we need compact defensive play, and it's not gonna happen with lazy Figo on the pitch. He can come in as a sub, to play 30-40 minutes as a fresh player, if we need a goal desperately. It's very important not to concede a first goal since we would be in deep problems then. We can't afford to have three just offensive-minded players from the start (Zlatan, Crespo, Figo), we need all four midfielders to run the show all over the pitch. Then if it's 1-1 or worses like 1-0 at the second half, we can introduce Figo if it's possible to create game with him. But his role should be offensive and with different formation than normal 4-3-1-2.

From the start, Crespo-Zlatan-Stankovic-Maxwell-Maicon are fully capable of creating chances, we don't need two offensive fullbacks as it would risk too much. One thing I'm still so scared is the freekicks Materazzi, Cordoba and Dacourt will concede at the central zone in front of our box (or further as we saw last time).

Why Adriano before Crespo? Crespo is a proven finisher with a lot of experience in Euro-cup games. Adriano is not 100% so Crespo should be a sure starter.

Adriano is a risk. Crespo is rested and ready.

Anyway im not scared, I started the Milan - Inter thread earlier and we won 3-4... now i've started this one and it can only mean good.

This is great! Coz we'd expect Maicon always going upfront. :) Then, Cafe, Matrix and Nico can shift a bit to the central part in the box.

I can't remember when I was so nervous day befor a game, don't know why?

Maybe because there is no man who gived me security the whole season, I am 100% sure that with Patrik Viera in the squad we would won and this way,hmm I doubt.

If Ibrahimovic will be on serie A level I think that we will have our chanse but if he countinue his euro form we are out.

Well,I think we must be very careful in our predictions...
The point is not only to score goals against Valencia, but also not to receive...
Personally, between Grosso and Burdisso I'd prefer to see the italian word champion as a LB defender...He's much more experienced, has better dribbling abilities and more accurate crosses than the Argentinian...Plus,he's much more dangerous when he attacks. And as I admited above,we have to score goals..Also,Grosso had quite good performancel against Catania(where he scored a fantastic goal) and Livorno...
Moreover,I don't want to see Dacourt in this match...He was a disaster at the San Siro.He did a stupid foul on Morientes and Villa graped the chance and scored their first goal...Is there any possibility for Cambiasso to play?If not,I'd choose Stankovic..When he played as a central midfielder he had been perfect. Also, that's he's favourite position...
Now for the attacking midfielder what about Recoba? The most capable player of taking free kicks...The bad thing is that he has been out for a long time..He deserves a good performance to the nerazzurri fans and his coach...
My suggestion...
----------Julio Cruz--------
--Maicon----Cordoba----Materazzi---Grosso
----------Zanetti---Stankovic---Maxwell
-----------------Recoba---------
--------Adriano-----Ibrahimovic---

Figo and Crespo not from the beggining....
Good luck squadra nerazzurra....

I think burdisso, crespo, figo will play this game, crespo will cum handy on lethal clinical finishes as we wont be getting as much chances we had at the meazza, figo destroyed valencia at the meazza, but later tiredness crept in him,and burdisso has played consistently all season.MAX has only made 1 appearance for us in UCL which is shocking,
DONT KNOW Y I GET THE FEELING THAT MANCIO DOESNT PREFER MAX IN UCL.

Great lineup, my current ideal lineup. But I'm sure we will see both Maxwell and Grosso. Burdisso will play as CB with Cafe dropping to the bench. Thats what I think is likely.

Wtf? Playing with 2 fullbacks too dangerous? We've done that all the season, in important games. To go with 3 central defenders with two more defender kind of players in the middle of the pitch already would make a huge risk.

To be honoust I want to see Grosso playing, his a hero like player. Hungry for adrenaline, the bigger it gets, the better he gets. In our most important CL game of the season, againist Sporting at home he gave in my eyes a fantastic display, without any mistakes and some brilliatn attacking movement. (combining with Ibra a lot)

Same is with Figo, it's not too bad situation, but we still need to take the risks. There is always a chance that Figo makes something like vs. Roma and that would basically mean with the form of some players it'd be a sure ticket to next round. I think all he needs is some proper motivating.

I'd go for - JC; Maicon, Burdisso (though two other choices aren't too bad either imo, every player has his pluses), Materazzi - Grosso; JZ, Dacourt, Stankovic; Figo; Crespo, Ibrahimovic

I don't know how it or any other line-ups would work, but I'd prefer that. In the end it's Mancini who makes the decision and he is the one who'll either become a hero or a villain most probably. Though if we produce a whole-heart performance and only maybe miss out on a bit of luck I'm kind a okay as the situation isn't the easiest.

Man, here too, I'm counting the minutes. Whole tomorrow will be a long lasting year. It feels kind of like the Juventus games, which I also anticipate for very long times. I never have such feeling before the derby, I start to some nervous/excitement shaking like 10 minutes before the game. :D

Inter Forever

I believe we should start attacking from the beginning, 3 strikers.

A defeat in the derby of a league never puts you out. You never lose a league in one match (well almost never).
Last time, I was this worried about a game, was probably in Euro derby, when we were trailing 2-0 in the first leg. Villareal game didnt worry me, as I had assumed that we would go to spain and easily get a result.
I tried to convince myself so much, that we are most probably out after the first leg, but I just cant. Come on Inter, I dont wanna go into a Villareal phase once again.
I will probably be off to some pub tommorow, and if we get a bad result, I will probably smash a few beer bottles on the head of Valencia suppoters.
