I agree with a lot of ur points, but I think that you should go with a defensive right back, and an offensive left back. Vicente isnt overhyped at all...he really is dangerous, and every cross from him is pretty much perfect for villa and moro.
I dont know THAT much about inter players...it seems like most of you want maicon to be a major player in this game - can he play on the left wing, or is he confined to the right?
figo starting either right wing or center will get chewed by moretti or baraja/marchena.
what is inters best attacking option on the left flank?

Well, Inter doesn't have such asset on the left flank what Maicon is on the right flank. He is a sure starter, because he is one of Inter's major players. Inter isn't playing with wingers, but offensive wingback(s), but in this match I would more defensive option as right back (Burdisso) as I explained already. Three-man midfield's most left player advances normally, and I would go with Maxwell on this match, since he hasn't been too bad recently. And considering Figo, you said it well, he'll be chewed if he starts. This game is definitely a no no to Figo.

After watching today's game against Livorno, I can briefly estimate the line-up against Valencia.

--------------Adriano-----------Ibrahimovic-------------
---------------------------Figo-----------------------------
---------Zanetti--------Dacourt-------Stankovic-----------
---Maxwell------Materazzi------Cordoba-------Maicon---
---------------------------J.Cesar---------------------------

Subs: Crespo, Cruz, Solari, Mariano, Grosso, Burdisso, Toldo

J.Zanetti and h
Mancini experimented a few times this game and tried out three different midfield formations which troubles me and tells me he is still not sure what he is going to go with.

First it was:

Stan
Maxwell--Dacourt--Zanetti

Then:

Stan
Maxwell--Burdisso--Zanetti

And finally:

Figo
Stan--Burdisso--Zanetti

I thought the first one was the best but the second one is a viable option too. The last one was prolly the worst but Figo did half decent when he came on which is what Mancini is planning to do I guess.

Oh and Hal I hope you saw Maxwell and Grosso playing on the left. Got ripped apart a few times too many for me by average players.

I would go with

--------------Crespo-----------Ibrahimovic-------------

---Burdisso------Materazzi------Cordoba-------Maicon---
---------------------------J.Cesar---------------------------

Subs: Toldo, Samuel, Grosso, Solari, Figo, Cruz, Adriano

Maybe quite defensive in midfield, but Maxwell can advance to close the space on left flank. Stankovic, Zlatan and Maicon can produce miracles on the right.

Formations dont count, whatever 11 players are on the pitch will have to give 101% and thats all that matters.

Valencia only gave us 2000 tickets, all have been sold out.

Seeing Ibra and Cruz work together i wud be tempted to field the same 2 upfront - specially if u see how well Cruz has done for us in the CL this season

Forget about Adriano, this kid is not ready (still? ) for such a clash, physcially or mentally.

What a pity when we really need some extra force on attack.

yes, pity really. Imperatore has disappointed me immensly, he was looking so good and then he had to go and start partying:( From being a sure-starter, I'm hoping he'll start on the bench. He's hasn't played enough. Crespo or Cruz should start.

Mine lineup is similar to everyone else but I will give Crespo the nod

----------------JC------------------
Maicon----Matrix---Burdisso---Grosso
----Zanetti------Dacourt-----Maxwell
---------------Deki-----------------
----------Ibra--------Crespo--------

No Figo and Cordoba, altho it seeems like Mancini will prob use at least one of them in the starting lineup against Valencia

Even I would start with Crespo...we gotta be clinical in this game...
Crespo's experience in CL should also help

Anyone else notice this? Indeed, he has done a good job recently.
However here is the rule:
Put him to midfield ---- Good dribbling/crossing, nice running sometimes, and he has a good connection with Ibra.

Fill him as a defendor ---- A medicore fullback, Angulo could easily own him on this side.

Hope Mancio make a right decision, especially when we have to attack and win at Valencia!

we must attack right from the start and if the starting formation doesn't 3 strikers even 4 strikers are all option

If we play Figo, I think it's better if he comes on as a sub for Stankovic or another midfielder than from the start. Figo generally doesn't play well if he starts because he gets tired too early during the slow phase of the game

Damned, no Deki means we are more or less like the struggling Valencia 3 months ago...

No Viera/CuChu/Deki in Mid, No 100% fit Adriano, An exhausted Ibra...
This is not the real/complete Inter. :(
