60-40 chances on our side. Good draw imho

Atletico is tough no doubt, their attack is in decent shape (it's Morata and Griezmann :palm: lmao), but their defenders are prone to mistakes.

They are piss poor away, drew Lazio and fkn Celtic in UCL, lost to Barca, Las Palmas, now recently Bilbao.
We have really good chance to beat them home, and put a dog fight in Spain.

We face Atletico at home on February 20th, after Salernitana and before Lecce (wonderful), and away on March 13th sandwiched between Bologna and Napoli (not very wonderful, although Napoli of course play Barcelona away before the same matchday).

Not quite as brutal as the aforementioned hypothetical, though.

Sociedad getting PSG is hilarious. Which one of you goofs willed this into reality?
Most hilarious is the Milan fans who regret that they missed the easiest opponent (according to them) from CL group winners. Real S will wipe the floor with present Milan.

Pretty evenly matched tie. I'm not mad; a physical matchup and the team who wants it most will win, not too unlike Porto last year.
Real, Bayern, and City would have all been worse imo. Although if we're comparing our draw to Sociedad's, I'd rather play PSG.

Won vs Monza after getting slapped in Bergamo, now they think they are winning it all again. Scudetto, Coppa, EL.

Draw could have been worst, looks like an even match up. Everything depends on the injury situation and form at the time. It's a Spanish side, so there's always a little perturbation playing against them.

True but I would say they are one of the Spanish sides who don't play particularly Spanish.

Not necessarily because the percentages aren't the same, but yeah very unlucky for them. The countries that have multiple clubs coming out of the groups make the draws a mathematical problem :)

I would rather play PSG than Atletico, but okay, it is what it is. While Real Sociedad would be a better fit for Atletico than PSG. I will be cheering for them.
The reason why I'd rather see Inter play Atlético then PSG, is because of Mbappe.
Mbappe has the individual skill to shift games, no matter how good the other team is set up. Atlético has good players, but not in the same vein like Mbappe or a Bellingham,...

And yes, P$G will have a tough time against Sociedad, but I see them going through. Hopefully for a next round clash with Inter??? :)

This will be a big mentality and character test for our boys. Lets see how we can cope with dirtiest douches in a football world lead by that disgusting diver Griezmann.

Most team in the UCL knock-out rounds are from Spanish teams. Our chance to get them are 43%, the highest percentage. So it's good to settle match upon them more often if Inter really want that 4th title.

Atletico, we come to you and Inter will win the next round ticket:interflag:

Ateltico are probably cursing their luck for drawing Inter out of all teams. However, I'm also not a fan of Inter's records against Spanish teams.

Tough game but we can go through if we don't miss key players.

Tough fixtures but it’s doable. It would be really preferable if we get a great result at the Meazza before travelling to Spain. We’ve been fantastic away but Atletico is extremely strong at home.

Also I’m putting a fiver on Copenhagen to bounce City from the competition.

Sociedad has a fair chance against PSG, based on their current form. I say it's 50-50, but we don't know how both team's form will be in 2 months.
Their current form is 3 months prior to the deciding games

I’m literally shocked about the amount of people who don’t get that if any given team been exchanged with another the draw outcome would be entirely different.

If we had won the group then Socidad would be second. As they can’t draw Atl Madrid, Barca, Real or Inter there would then only be 4 teams they could be paired with, meaning little chance many of the draw would fall out the way they did.

But basically all the strongest is paired with the weakest… on paper

There really only 2 that on paper should be exciting Atl Madrid vs Inter that look to be the most equal pairing and Dortmund vs PSV. PSG hasn’t been any good this year but it would still be a surprise if Socidad can kick them out as they have the team to get their act together.

Porto could be a very nasty surprise for Arsenal.

Also our record against Spanish teams are so horrible that any Spanish teams can never be seen as a good draw.

Don’t matter we are rubbish against Spanish teams, those its more like 40-60 in their favour just because of that reality.

I taken Arsenal any day of the weak frankly.

because its a useful proxy as a starting point if one wants to speculate about what happens, rather than just saying well we could have drawn anyone, so shrug

This "wE sUck aGaINSt sPanIsh tEamS" argument is getting annoying. We beat Barcelona last year and knocked them out.
