Responsibility of what? Losing CL final?

He landed to the CL final with this goalkeeper! He could definitely do better but how can you say the mistake of losing CL final because they don't have a better GK which means the mistake was done last summer or last January.. Many many matches before.

Again, nobody would have imagined it was Liverpool who contested Real Madrid in the final.

Furthermore, it is not only the GK that is not up to CL final standard. Their whole defence and midfield could do much much better. For example, the last goal, Bale took a shot being mesmerised by 5 Liverpool players. Nobody even tried to close down.

If there is anything Klopp has to take responsibility is how he developed his defence system. His defence is atrocious. This exposed Karius even more.

i think we can talk about people's mistakes even though overall they have done a good job.

if i had to judge klopp's season, i'd give him a solid 8.5. but it could have been 9.5, even 10.

single mistakes may change the outcome of a season, as we all know. especially in a tournament with a knock-out phase.

that is why many call champions league "the tournament of the details" (i think mourinho was the one who said it first).

ok, this was the premise. now on to the point.

those mistakes were embarrassing even for a round of 16.

the goalkeeper must be up to the task, more than anyone else. because when he fucks up, there is nobody else to remedy for that.

two of three real madrid's goals were uniquely because of karius.

so yes, unless the property kind of forced karius among the starters (which i doubt), it would seem pretty obvious to me that klopp has to be held responsible for not finding a better goalkeeper on the market, i'm fairly sure liverpool's finances would have been enough for a decent solution.

klopp was overall great this season. half of the distance between great and legendary lies in karius.

Lol you are overanalyzing this. Karius made two embarassing mistakes in a CL final when the whole world was watching. Is it not believable that people genuinely feel sorry for the guy? It's ok to be nice and express it and not fear what others might think of you. And who tf reads that tweet and goes "what pussies!"

Btw Inter's twitter isn't afraid of the "Italian perspective" (whatever that means lol). They tweeted this on the English channel for the same reason why they congragulated RM only on the Spanish channel.

My point is only that different people from different cultures have different opinions about the relationship betwern sportsmanship, competition, and vulnerability. Here in the USA we are overly sensitive in my opinion. We have players openly talking about anxiety attacks and the media applauds them for their bravery. I can't speak for other cultures but am curious about how this is in Italy.

And plenty of people are already questioning the tweet, as they should. Social media for a brand as valuable as Inter needs to be strategic, not emotional. I think you are under-analyIng it.

Well, since you are asking for a perspective from italy: I can talk for me only and not on behalf of other people, and I have already said that I found it unnecessary. Honestly, I think the right word would be 'lame' in this case.

Under this point of view, I would say that Italy is being partially influenced by the US, so many people would react like an American and applaud that tweet. While some others would agree with me.

I would say the two different opinions would have more or less the same share of people, of course when we don't consider those who couldn't give a fuck.

On the other hand, writing that in English has severely limited the impact of that tweet in Italy, no more than 10% of Italian football fans may have known of it, probably less.

I don't think anyone on TV has even mentioned it. a couple of sites have it but didn't create much debate

If Liverpool and Roma were able to go so deep in the CL this year sury means Europe is more open than it has been in many years. I don't see any outstanding sides, perhaps other than City but whether they can replicate their domestic form in Europe is the big question. A bit of investment and we should be hopeful of going well next year.

The other side of that though is the fear that with the level across Europe generally poor, next year could be the year where Juventus... I can't even finish that sentence.

FUCK THIS SHIT...I'm a gay tiger :yao:

Neville uses social media a lot to stand up for various causes. He's a guy with a very good social conscience at heart.

so now if i'm not mistaken we should be able to tell who's where in the draw, at least for most teams but we will have to wait for preliminary rounds to have the whole picuture, something might change.

this is the image the user chipschups has posted in the other thread and it should be valid as of today since liverpool didn't win, so will remain in pot 3.

A lot of the teams in the lower half of that table still need to qualify.

I doubt Klopp would end his post with begging for likes for an unaffiliated LFC Fans page.

Inter, supporting error-prone players who seem like nice dudes off the pitch since January 2011.
There was a time when Materazzi was getting more hate than Ranocchia. Standards are changing all the time.
