Wonder if I can
Olympic champion in ice-hockey will be Slovakia. We have great team with great stars...

Goalies: Peter Budaj - young star, Karol Krizan - swedish league star, Jan Lasak - always great in national team

Defence: Lubomir Visnovsky - LA Kings, Zdeno Chara & Andrej Meszaros - Ottawa, Ivan Majesky - Washington, Milan Jurcina - Boston, Radoslav Suchy - Columbus, Martin Strbak - CSKA Moscow

Attackers: Killer line from Trencin - Marian Hossa, Pavol Demitra and Marian Gaborik, Second line - Miroslav Satan, Richard Kapus, Peter Bondra, another attackers: Richard Zednik, Lubos Bartecko, Tomas Surovy, Marek Svatos (with Ovechkin candidates for Calder Trophy), Ronald Petrovicky, Marcel Hossa. I hope Jozef Stumpel will be OK and will play

Tomorrow we will beat USA

Anyway - last season during NHL lock-out lot of NHL stars played in Slovakian league. I am from Zvolen - hockey city - Michal Handzus, Richard Zednik and Vladimir Orszagh played here...

I have many photos of NHL stars in Slovakian teams. If there is someone, who wants it, ask me, and I will send it

The best teams so far are Finland, Slovakia and Canada (in order of performances). I hope our superstars really bring it up a notch against the Yankees and we own the shite out of them (like usual).

Finland overcame Canada with a 2-0 victory. The Finns started the game with a bang when Koivu outmuscled Pronger behind the net and gave a backhand pass to Selanne who slotted it top shelf. Minutes later, Finland would find themselves 2 goals up when Kapanen doubled their lead, beating Luongo again on his glove side.

Both goalies had good games, Luongo making 28 saves and Nittymaki with 24 and a shutout. That's his 2nd shutout in a row. Finland are leading the Olympics with 8 pts. 15 goals for, 2 goals against and remain undefeated.

Canada has a tough last game against the Czechs. Both teams are 2 for 2 and with Jagr out (?), Canada should have absolutely no excuse for this one. They are now over 100 minutes without scoring a goal.

How was that for a game re-cap? :D

Panic is starting to take over some people here. They are saying that we lack a leader like Yzerman or LeMieux, which is kind of true.

Still, I think Canada will win it all at the end.

The long ski jump (name?) was great. Since there was no good Canadian, I was rooting for Ahannen, the Finn, but he sadly finished 6/7. It was so damn great to see those guy fly like this, I wish I could try it.

In my opinion Canada should replace washmed up idiots like Pronger and put in Phaneuf or something. Put in Staal too.

Italian police seized 100 syringes, 30 packages of antidepressants and asthma medication during Saturday's raids at the Austrian biathlon and cross country teams' private lodging at the Turin Olympics, Austrian television reported Monday. State broadcaster ORF, citing Italian prosecutor Raffaele Guariniello, said authorities also found equipment used to conduct blood tests and perform blood transfusions.

The report is the latest in a series of developments occurring as a doping scandal surrounds the teams. On Sunday, banned Austrian ski coach Walter Mayer led authorities on a bizarre chase, crashing into a police roadblock 15 miles inside the country after he fled the Olympics.

Why don't Italian police go search Juve's dressing room as well :frustrat:

Canada is out after losing to Russia 2-0!

Man, this is really shocking, and it will be a reality check for some people here. Lesson, I hope the people in Canada don't always assume they are the best in Hockey, enough illusions.

There are many reasons why the team lost, but the main reason that I think of will never be discussed here. I really don't think Quinn was a good choice this time around. But the Toronto-dominated media will blame the loss on February having 28 days than blame Quinn!

Anyway, Go Finland :star: :star: :star:

Go Finland indeed.

Worst match of the tournament [by far!] and we still won.

My post before the tournament began...

And who will win the gold medal? Canada might as they have soo many awesome players in their team, but i think Czechs or Russia will be the winner. I assume that Canada´s biggest worry is that they aren´t so used to play in big rinks. We will see how much that matters in the end...
Looks like the Czech vs. Russia final might become a reality. At least i dont see Finland winning the russians. Sweden might win against Czechs though.

Big rink might have been the reason Canada suck´d and was scoreless in three matches [out of six]. Canada had the best team on paper, but they never played like a team and that´s why they´re in the way back to home already.
