Go Finland indeed.

Worst match of the tournament [by far!] and we still won.

My post before the tournament began...

Looks like the Czech vs. Russia final might become a reality. At least i dont see Finland winning the russians. Sweden might win against Czechs though.

Big rink might have been the reason Canada suck´d and was scoreless in three matches [out of six]. Canada had the best team on paper, but they never played like a team and that´s why they´re in the way back to home already.

C'mon Tommi stay positive (I know that isn't very Finnish but try it). Finland have been the most impressive team in Torino BY FAR! Twice as impressive as the Ruskies. Koivu-Selanne is deadly, Russia's defence will not be able to shut them out that's for sure. It'll be a close one.

Man, this will be one big final. I was hoping to see two of my favourite defencemen square on in Salo vs Ohlund, but it will still be cool.

I think arrogance among all nordic countries exists amongst each other. Just look at Tommi's comment regarding facing Sweden for example.

It's just rivalry. When it comes to skiing, Swedes and Norwegians poke fun. When it comes to hockey it's Finland and Sweden. Hell, I'm proud over my Nordic blood to see Finland and Sweden facing each other.

Don't delude yourselves. Finland loves beating Sweden just as much as we do. Just ask Tommi and the other hockey fanatics from Finland.

Finland is going to walk over us though. Absolutely fantastic olympics from their part.

They are more related to Estonians, Komi's and stuff. Magyar's are a bit less related. Though, we all come from the Ural's.

Nah, that's not true.

The origin of us Hungarians is still unsure, but it is now proven that there's no link whatsoever between us and the Finns. This theory was based on the similarities between our languages (both are unique), but it was revealed that there was no connection between us.
Thing is, scientists and historians couldn't discover any language that has the same origins as the Hungarian language, that's why it is very hard to foreigners from any country to learn it.

Still, as this theory stood for a long time, lots of Hungarians treat Finns as people who are related to us.

Sweden vs. Finland is just a rivalry, quite healthy rivalry i think...not as friendly as Inter vs. Milan matches has been though. I´m proud to see this final pair as well, my dream final...at least if we win tomorrow. If we lose, it´ll be a disaster.

I certainly hope so, but my pessimistic side wants to say that i dont think it´ll be an easy match. Hopefully we will be able to sing "den glider in" by tomorrow...

About the Olympics, I hope that Germany wins the final standings. Not out of love for Germany, but I am sick of the US winning everything when they don't care that much about the olympics.

LOL, I was just kidding, trying desparately to spice up a rivalry

About US, most of their 'sports' experts mock the winter olympics, which gets on my nerves. NBC tries DESPARATELY to 'sex' up the Winter Olympics and make it more appealing, and they sometimes do it in a tasteless way. Still, only those in Colorado, Utah, some of those depressing states in the North (Minnesota etc.) seem genuinely interested.

There´s a reason why NBC is trying to ´sex-up´ the olympics. They´re only the fourth [or fifth] best television station in US and their tv-series lacks audience. I know this ´cause Leno jokes about it all the time. I´m sure this in one and their biggest reason for doing that.

Yeah, they have too much riding on the Olympics. Friends, Seinfeld, and Frasier are gone, and they are in trouble.

My point is that if you don't do a thing out of genuineness, then it is most likely to fail. I know about commercial necessity and all, but NBC fakes genunine interest in the Olympics. That is not the case in Canada, TV stations sincerely cares about the winter olympics.

That's why I don't want the US to have the highest medal totals.

In fact, most Swedes are really timid, which is why I was surprised at Ohleguer's statement.

Finland is by far the favourites, and the team to beat. Especially their defence.

What sucks is that I have to tape the Inter match (!), because the final is at the same time as our game tomorrow.
