Chapter 11 sometimes is miraculous.

I still think that LATAM Airlines isn't doomed yet for example.

Not sure how LATAM s BS looks but that of hertz certainly does not warranty a equity value above 0.

I think people are gambling on a rescue deal of some sort. If you have 10k to spare it's nothing to make a 1k gamble which can give you gains of x20 in the unlikely event that it doesn't go bust.

I wouldn't do it, but I know some people who take such gambles for the sake of taking them.

But I would agree that many retail investors may fall into the "cheap stock price" fallacy and they don't even follow basic news.

But what exactly is the volume on this Hertz thing? I'd bet it's very low which may explain this kind of spikes.

P.S. Latam doesn't look good lol. But Qatar is backing them iirc and they are huge so someone may want to revive it and I don't see many able to chew off the pieces for themselves in this market.

Volume was quite high at 243 mio...65 day average was at some 18 mio....

Pimpin on schwab i m just not sure that free trading account BM is sustainable.

Also on the robinhood thing i ve been thinking for some days to try to use their trading patterns for my own advantage. Like as long as you dump em before most RH traders do, you can make nice daily gains by buying absolute crap.
Worked with LK, worked with hertz....

I just read a report a friend sent me from raifaissen, they sound supper bullish some interesting points there as well. Though they do say under the assumption that there won't be a second hit.

Can you send me the doc?
Also my usual reaction is their either economically illiterate or they just wanna pump when somebody is super bullish in this market. I mean what was their view 12 months ago were they as bullish as now if not what changed?
I m not saying their wrong but all the banks from CS to UBS to GS to Boa basically said a V recovery is impossible just as every economist that i hold in high regard......
Not saying they are wrong it s just beyond me how one can be super bullish with all this uncertainty around.

Also wtf happened today nice fucken reversal towards the close...

Also snap just fucked me over fucken 7% today when my puts were fucken 50 cents in the money at open today but i was not at my desk and now it s all down the drain.

So they make some good points but i also have some issues with their statemenets, while i agree that the job loss was in the wrong order and very fast for a recession, i do not think we re at the peak yet and i think even with the absence of a second wave those jobs will only come back slowly. Boeing and most airlines only started to make big layoff just now. Imho a lot of it depends how fast will those jobs come back and my money would be on it will take quite some time. Furthermore i think we just seen the tip of the iceberg when it comes to bankruptcies...

The other issue i have with their claim is that we were not in a bubble before this shit hit, but in terms of almost every valuation metric we were close to bubble territory as in only time valuations were higher was when we were close to peaks of asset bubbles. So while i cant say it was a bubble i think just dismissing the possibility that asset prices were already overinflated is not really fair.

While i do agree that for the longterm investor there are opportunities out there and i m not nearly as bearish as i was 1 months ago as it looks like a lot of countries got the virus under control. There are just too many sectors hard hit that wont recover fast and where investments will be kept to a minimum. I also think once that stimulus is cut back will start to see a even bigger drag on spending.

Last but not least i dont think i ve ever seen a situation as uncertain as the current one. The political landscape is fucked from tradewars to borderline real wars (china/india) to unrests (HK). Every earnings call I ve listend to guidance has been pulled so again uncertainty sky high. On top of all of that we have a virus where nobody really knows whats gonna happen.

Not sure how much inflation we ll see in asset prices though....

Imho this is still a very much a day traders market there s bargains to be made when you hold for years sure but i also dont see how assets are gonna move significantly upwards this year.
I m still gonna hide out in divs and strong Balance sheets/Brands until the picture is clearer. Basically i dont see any urge to buy now.

any thoughts on Lumentum, Skyworks, Analog Devices, Akamai Technologies, Qorvo and CloudFlare.

I really liked what I saw on Skyworks (0 debt, insane for such a high growth company), Akamai (insane how Cloudflare is so much more valued than Akamai).
