The brand of football that we are playing with him in charge is simply a joy to watch. If you are introducing somebody to Italian football, better pick an Inter game.

But too bad most people tend to watch a Juventus game as their first Serie A experience. Juventus games are a cure for insomnia.

Are we thinking that other teams will be sniffing around in the summer after his very impressive 2023?

Though, I don’t see many top teams needing a new manager. Maybe Newcastle or United?

Even among EPL fansboys who see Serie A as a very inferior league his name is brought up as an option for Man Utd bench, mostly because of his CL campaign. So there could be rumours in the future, especially if he has another good CL campaign.

But he doesn't seem the type who's searching for a challenge abroad. He looks happy at Inter.

Tbh not so much that but at inter he's boosting his reputation atm. If he wants to make a step up to a bigger name club where he'll grow his reputation further he should at least finish out this season if not one more after. Another decent CL run and a league title under his belt will change perspectives on him significantly, he could walk into a well paid job somewhere else after.

Truly. I detest teams that play too carefully, like crabs sauntering about. Boldness is the way. This side has grown into something magnificent this season and I am enjoying it greatly.

Inter hired Inzaghi in 2021 to replace Antonio Conte and the Italian tactician and has recently extended his contract until June 2025. Therefore, he was asked if he aimed to imitate Guardiola and Klopp and remain at the club for many years.

“This is the target. I think this is true for every coach,” he admitted.

“I spent several years at Lazio, and I hope I can stay here for as long as possible, but the pitch does the talking.

I won’t say it couldn’t happen, but I don’t see Inzaghi going away anytime soon. He’s basically our managements ideal coach— gets on with whatever he’s got and doesn’t make too much of a fuss. Also I don’t think Inzaghi speaks a lick of English or any other foreign language for that matter. I don’t see him wanting to leave Italy unless he really dreams of coaching abroad and wants the exposure, which aren’t really the vibes I get from him but who knows.

Inzaghi: On the day of Eriksen’s problem, I called Marotta and Piero Ausilio because there were reports Calhanoglu would not remain at Milan,” Inzaghi said at a press conference on Monday, as quoted by FcInter1098.

“They told me they had already contacted him, so [his signing] was a common idea for everyone. We signed him to play as a box-to-box midfielder, but I tried him [as a playmaker] in some training sessions after Marcelo Brozovic’s injury. He confirmed he could play there after just a few games. He is an important player with the qualities of a playmaker.”
Don Beppe is always one move ahead of everything.

Wow the haters were waiting for this, and this ain't even a loss, it was a draw game that we "want" to win, not needed.

If we get eliminated, it's only on him, shity starting lineup against benfica that deny us sure win and today shity subs that stoped all our momentum...

Two ways of looking at Inzaghi’s approach to the CL:

One is that it was extremely stupid, we could have easily secured top spot by prioritising it just a little more.

Another way of looking at it is that was both incredibly smart and brave:

Smart in the sense that we’ve secured promotion while resting our best players, ensuring we remain top domestically.

Brave in the sense that Inzaghi backs the team to face off against the world’s best.

I lean more towards stupid, but we’ll see.

Criticizing his choices makes no one a hater. The team was set up to fail both in this and Benfica game as a result of that, in a group that should have been totally winnable, we finish second and are bound to get our asses handed to us in the next round.

I like Inzaghi and his tactic but his subs and his turnover will always be stupid to me.

That we had so many issues and rotations and still made it through the group is to be celebrated. I was there when we couldn't beat Spurs to move through.

And I repeat, still first in the league. Y'all just becoming irrational because of all the good results lately. We ONLY have two strikers....IN A TWO STRIKER SYSTEM!! We keep losing defenders to long(ish) injuries!!! What more do you want from this squad????

I just don’t get this Benfica argument 😂 who says we’d win that game with our first eleven? Also even if we had won that, we would have to hold out today. Adding to that you want to have the energy against Atalanta, Juventus, Napoli and Udine. Come on guys, let’s get real with our standards.

The only mistakes he could’ve done were not subbing Barella, Lauti and maybe Tikus against Udinese at half time. This way we could’ve seen them on the pitch today.

BTW Timo Werner is up for a loan in winter… just placing this here in the hope the demon of piacenza uses FIF as his recipe when cooking…

Well players that came in and are from our starting line up did nothing better than Arna or Asslani, why do you think that we would beat Sociedad playing our best 11?

It also really depends on what our goals are?

Is the goal to win Serie A and try to win the Champions League? If that's the goal, management needs to take the blame on having Alexis and Arnautovic as the rotation options.

Inzaghi knows the first 11 cannot perform at a high-level when playing every 3 days. We saw that twice this season - home against Sassuolo and home against Bologna. In both games, there was no rotation. We played our first 11 against Benfica and 3 days later that first 11 could not play at a high-level for more than 30 minutes against Bologna and collapsed.

Getting an 'easy' opponent and aiming to go far in the CL is great, as long as everyone understands that there's a good chance it may lead to not being able to finish 1st in Serie A.

I see a lot of posts here saying Inzaghi has to win the Serie A this season - if that's the case, this type of rotation is necessary. We've rotated in 5 out of 6 CL games, which is pretty unheard of. With that rotation, it's led us to second place in CL and first in Serie A for now. Maybe if we played full teams against both Benfica and Sociedad, we would finish first in the group. At the same time, it could also have led us to have some points less in the league.

If the expectation is for Inzaghi to win the league, I can understand this approach. It would be great if we can aim to win the league and the CL, but if that's the case, why are our backup strikers Arnautovic and Sanchez? That's on management for providing these backup options to Inzaghi.

At some point, Inzaghi needs to make a decision. Does he rest Thuram against Benfica or rest him away versus Napoli? Does he rest Lautaro versus Sociedad or away versus Lazio? There is always risk of losing points. Obviously, there is no guarantee that we beat Lazio after rotation, just like there is no guarantee we would have beaten Napoli if we would have played our starters versus Benfica.

When we lost the Scudetto to Milan, a big part of it was our slump due to CL matches - and even back then, I remember some posters complaining that we put so much energy into the Liverpool away match.
