I 100% didn't expect us to go through this group and I'm very glad to eat my words.

However, just like with last year, I have to question whether UEFA changing the order of the last two matchdays bailed us out. Imagine if today was Bayern vs. Inter and Barcelona vs. Viktoria, we lose and they win and we go into the final matchday on equal points and having to win. Would we have crumbled under the pressure again? Have we finally matured past that? We'll never know, really.

I’m beginning to think Inzaghi would be a hell of a manager overseas. His style doesn’t translate wonderfully to Serie A but what he’s done in the UCL the last two seasons show he can be a hell of a coach at times. Nothing but applause for his games vs Barca especially.

Bravo limone on CL qualification. Deserves huge credit for this. He has shown he is far superior than his predecessor in Europe!

I'm pretty confident he's on the top of Liverpool's list for a Klopp replacement down the line.

Funnily enough i could see him succeeding Conte at Tottenham too.

Only if we sack him halfway through whatever season.

I think Liverpool or Chelsea are more realistic options if it's more of a mutual thing between us and Simone.

Its Crazy how Shit Conte is in Chl with better team and worse group, while Inzaghi is oposite
While in League is oposite, i dnt know why? How Does Inzaghi motivate them to play this kind of games, and why cant Conte do that in Chl, who is 10x times better manager than Inzaghi

we are getting our shit back together, slowly

it's great that we don't have to play our first 11 against Bayern since we can't even reach the first place

give Bellanova, Asllani and Gosens a chance to play against Bayern or I'm gonna lose my shit

Gosens and Asllani yes. Provided that Brozovic is unfit because he'll need the minutes.
Bellanova why?

I wonder the same. But it might be that Inzaghi plays more attacking, relies on outscoring the opponent and Conte wants to replicate his low block rigid football to outsmart the opponent and lure them into his counter attacks.

Across 6 games, I think the former is a better approach.

What Conte wants works against teams that want to attack but they aren't very good at it, but those are not many in the CL.

This is only my take though

I think we need to define what is that 10x times better ... Probably the only quality that Conte has which makes him successful is determination and ability to keep the same level of motivation in the long run.
He does the same boring thing over and over and doesn't lose focus no matter what. In the long run ( 38 matches season) that gives you the edge vs opponents who have periods of up and downs.

Inzaghi's team on the other hand has a higher ceiling. In that ceiling he is better than Conte both in term of quality of play and results but keeping a team in that high level is much harder and he fails to do that in a long run. I am pretty sure that we will do quite good in the next 4 matches but probably after 2 months off because of the WC the team will again lose focus and Inzaghi won't be able to resume on the same level next year. He had the same problem with Lazio when covid started. They were having a great season and leading the league , then covid happened , season got on hold for a month and the team was unable to restart on the same level

Another point is winning mentality and self-confidence. I don't think Inzaghi is fully confident on himself and his skills yet , hence more often than not he takes some decisions which go against his beliefs. I think that if he manages to win a league title for once he will become much better than Conte in his career

That COVID season downfall was mostly about the sudden congested schedule in the summer after the COVID break. Lazio's depth was enough for one match per week schedule. After the break when it became 2 matches per week, it wasn't enough.

At Inter he has better depth for sure, and hopefully he gets to use all his forwards for example for a longer time. Also when Brozovic comes back, the rotation situation in the midfield will be better.

Because Conte is an average tactician but he's both a great motivator and knows how to keep his teams on top physical condition over a season, this means every game of the season is fought tooth and nail, he's also really whiney so he gets the owners to spend and mostly gets good teams that don't sell their best players so over a lot of games he's really consistent. But when he has to play teams on his level one-on-one he's always outmatched because he's very limited tactically.

And of course players are automatically super motivated to play Champions League matches, because they're few and all really important, so the drilling and motivation advantages that Conte offers his teams are mostly negated here.

For some reason I want him to remain here as a coach because I feel like he can learn from mistakes but at the same time he makes me sick with his decisions. Somethign which is obvious cannot be denied but the guy is just too stubborn to reflect. For example if we played against a real team tonight we would surely concede because the changes made in the second half automatically made us worse and quite vulnerable in defence, but luckily Samp is garbage.
