I just hope to not fell asleep during the match like I did today and then wake up when the opponent scores.
I can't understand how you fall asleep in an Inter game... even when we are playing shite, perhaps specially when we are playing shite, I am usually jumping and screaming... watching Inter games are not good for my heart
Somehow, I have fallen asleep watching Barca games before.... too much tiki and not enough taka!
In the mid-late 1990's, I used to live in India. If we were lucky, we could catch a game at 2am on TV, but most days we were not so lucky. There were no live streams on the net those days. There was this awesome global Inter list, I am a part of it even today, and we used to chat with one guy watching the game and writing his own commentary! Yes, we used to religiously be awake every night just to be able to chat during the game, and read the commentary. And some of you will remember that Inter, all we had was hope and a prayer. Never winning the Scudetto, but that didn't stop us from chatting during every single game. There were guys from Hongkong, Singapore, US, and so many other countries whose timings were probably worse than mine. But every game, they would be there.
We used to even have these funny superstitions. Mine was that when Inter really needed a goal, I would open a bottle of beer and let a bit spill. You will be surprised how often that used to work, and how often it used to get me drunk Sometimes, even today, I keep a spare bottle of beer and an opener in front of me... sadly, the success rate is not the same.
The bonds we formed during those days are everlasting, an Inter brotherhood. I remember when many of us from all over the world traveled to Madrid in 2010 for the final, most of us were meeting each other for the first time... But it was more like childhood friends meeting after decades - coz we had been to hell and back together. We spent those two days drinking, singing, cheering away... Quite a few of us shed some tears after the win... the feeling was overwhelming, it was like the culmination of all those nights spent in front of the PC, years of supporting the club when all seemed hopeless. And now we have those unforgettable memories of the legendary CL victory, glory at last, something to cherish for a lifetime.
I know I sometimes do get a bit pissed with all the negativity on this forum. But some of you have not gone through those dark ages, 17 scudetto-less years of under achievement, you don't appreciate how lucky we fans have got in the last decade. I guess I, like some other long time fans of Inter on this forum, think a little differently.
Falling asleep during an Inter game?! I didn't fall asleep in the middle of the night reading live commentary all those nights, there is little chance I will fall asleep during live coverage on TV now.
