15m is a hefty sum for a 31yo, but 10m for a 34 is not? You told me we can't get younger striker for less than x3 x4 of 15.
Dude something is really wrong in the way you evaluate players :D

When have I ever said 10m wasn’t a hefty sum for a 34 year old. If I recall I said exactly the same that it was exactly a hefty overprice for a 34 year old, I even called it desperation before closure.

I said you can’t get a proven attacker talent of noticeable quality under 60m. Under is gambles for most parts.

If you want a young attacker in the Martinez category you have to develop them at a very early age.

Kids these days… also do you guys even know what age a boomer is?

Nobody did mention Martinez jesus christ. He is not even leaving. But a 3rd-4th sub-striker.
There is nobody in the middle of retiring grandpa and Martinez in your book?
60m? Lol. Look at Milan and see them getting the whole front line with less than that money.

We can’t exactly afford that middle ground of usable proven quality unless these are injury prone, on bosman or with contract expiration in a year.

Milan get plus 30, injury plagued players other unproven gambles and players reaching end of contract because that’s literally what you can get in that budget.

Pulisic = injury plagued
Chukwueze = gamble that was reaching end of contract
Okafor = unproven injury plagued gamble who never played in a major league

Is that really meant to impress me?Also some of these would not really fit our system.

Also Taremi refused the cheap discount deal Milan proposed.

Summing up injury prone, gambling and a small pond fish together you get Arnautovic. Plus age on top.

You are contradicting yourself in the same sentence. There's nothing called "proven talent". Its like asking for a virgin with skills :lol: Yeah and obviously no one proven is coming as 3-4th sub.

You are just putting impossible conditions to reject all names proving you wrong on plate.

Good to know we're holding Milan's starters to our backups' standards now. It's the right way to go (y)

Woah, that's bullshit on so many levels...

Hakan = Milan reject
Lukaku = Chelsea, MU flop
Dzeko = old fart... ancient
Mkhitaryan = Arsenal, MU reject + old fart
Onana = some guy that hasn't played football for 1 year due to doping
Acerbi = Lazio reject + old fart
Sanchez = reject, old, gets paid to leave the club - gets reacquired a year older
Cuadrado = old, juve merda piece of shit reject
Darmian = MU reject, old

And yeah, some of those are also injury prone.

At least Pulisic, Chukwueze and Okafor have some resale value. Even if one works out they'll be set for a couple of years. And for now, Pulisic is doing just fine. They can sell him back to the premtards next year for 60M easy.

Don't get me wrong, I get the argument but placed in the same frame we're doing even worse than Milan. The fact of the matter is, both clubs have limited funds. Milan have better wage structure and less debt. Still, both clubs needs to make do.

I never said I was impressed by the deal, so I don’t know why you keep barking up that tree for.

Talent is not contradicting being proven… you don’t stop being talented or talent just because you proved yourself.

Lol

That’s really not the definition but okay… also how do you assert that someone is older on an anonymous site.
Annoying people are younger, grumpy people are older, people that are the same age are Korean.

MU has rejected and ruined a ton of players….. so failing there isn’t as big as you make it sound like

Them and Chelsea is like going to Saudi Arabia or China to play. You turn to shit but make crazy money

Thanks for proving my point, doesn’t that exactly fall into my definition of we cannot afford paying so we can choose;
- Bosman
- players with contract expiration within one year
- injury plagued
- older players past prime
- unproven players

Lukaku was still high commodity on the market when we bought him and we brought him in before our owner ended up in their current circumstances and largely because of Conte demanding it and Zhang who wanted to grant a gift.

Acerbi = €3.5m
Hakan = bosman
Dzeko = €2.8m
Mkhitaryan = Bosman
Onana = Bosman
Sanchez = Bosman x2
Cuadrado = Bosman
Darmian = €3.3m

All in all €9.6m for those, we might have been able to get one milan type gamble for that. So the idea we could have gotten several is a bit ungrounded.

Also have I ever said those where players I wanted, I don’t really recall I have. I’m merely being realistic here.

At least Pulisic, Chukwueze and Okafor have some resale value. Even if one works out they'll be set for a couple of years. And for now, Pulisic is doing just fine. They can sell him back to the premtards next year for 60M easy.

If he doesn’t continue with his injury records, but if he dos no one wants to buy him for even 20m.

Chukwueze and Okafor will only gain resale value if they actually deliver, something that is far from granted.

Don't get me wrong, I get the argument but placed in the same frame we're doing even worse than Milan. The fact of the matter is, both clubs have limited funds. Milan have better wage structure and less debt. Still, both clubs needs to make do.

We are not doing worse then Milan with the money available. Milan prioritised quantity at a certain age group and profile. We prioritise our spending on mainly a few players and cover rest with Bosman and low spending purchases on the other spots needed coverage. If we did entirely like Milan you could forget Pavard and Frattesi with the budget available, it’s only possible because of the other less sexy transactions.

It’s a priority, but it’s not like Inter don’t do them.. Bisseck and Carlos Augusto is exactly that gamble Milan are doing.

Also Milan transfer budget is bigger then ours. Ours is vertically zero.

That’s not the same as I agree with getting Arna, because I really don’t, just as Sommer is also quite high for his age. But it’s a safer bet performance wise then what we could have gotten for same money if these where meant to be in their twenties. That doesn’t mean I agree with the priorities just that I understand why the club went with it. There is quite the distinction between that.

TDLR... We are postponing the inevitable each year. Milan are building for the future. With, yes, as limited funds as ours. We've spent around 100M, they've spent around the same, 10-15M more probably.

Next year or two we'll have to replace:
- Acerbi
- Sommer
- Cuadrado
- Arnautovic
- Sanchez
- Mkhitaryan
- Darmian

The only oldies Milan has are:
- Mirante
- Giroud
- Kjaer
- Florenzi, who is 32

Only Giroud is a starter.

Yeah, go buy them marquee signings for 10M above what Milan have paid for each of theirs and get old bums, but this can only last for so long. I get why we're doing it, I'm not saying it's not a strategy, I'm saying I'm more of a fan of Milan's outlook on things. Who has the best strategy and what will work out - we'll see in two years time.

It's because we are sprinting to get the second star before Milan gets it. And yet they can win it before us, so yeah. Exciting for both clubs.
