I don't think Milan's funds are as limited as ours though. We may have spent similar amounts, but they seem to have an actual budget as opposed to spending from sales. According to transfermarkt, they've sold players for 69 million this season, while we have sold for 132 million - that's over a 60 million difference in sales, and I believe they have spent more than us.

TDLR... We are postponing the inevitable each year. Milan are building for the future. With, yes, as limited funds as ours. We've spent around 100M, they've spent around the same, 10-15M more probably.

Next year or two we'll have to replace:
- Acerbi
- Sommer
- Cuadrado
- Arnautovic
- Sanchez
- Mkhitaryan
- Darmian

The only oldies Milan has are:
- Mirante
- Giroud
- Kjaer
- Florenzi, who is 32

Only Giroud is a starter.

Yeah, go buy them marquee signings for 10M above what Milan have paid for each of theirs and get old bums, but this can only last for so long. I get why we're doing it, I'm not saying it's not a strategy, I'm saying I'm more of a fan of Milan's outlook on things. Who has the best strategy and what will work out - we'll see in two years time.
Stop overrating Milan here. We have smashed them every year. We have a pretty young core in prime too. These 6 players are replacable, don't you think Beppe is not capable finding new players if the time is right . We only need to arrive atleast 4th and pass the groups to get the UCL moneys repeatedly. I know how things stand, we might sell again one of our jewels if Steven freaks out again , that will make it harder for us, but you don't need to think so far ahead bro. Our team is a scudetto today and in we are in pot2. Depending on the draw tonight we might project UCL knockouts again and maybe even more. We are right there 5,6th team after City, Real, Bayern , Barca.

I think Acerbi, Sommer and Arnautivic are 2 years deal? Maybe you meant Aduero, who is on loan here.
I'm pretty sure that Darmian and Mkhitaryan will extend. I'm not sure but the latter has + 1 year optional iirc.

Lmao we said this about Juve every year and it took another 3 years after Marotta left them for them to finally stop winning. We were supposed to implode 2 years ago, yet here we are.

At what point you guys start to realize there's a clear pattern here? As long as we're effective in flipping old players, what's the problem?

Also, do the teams who build for the future actually get to enjoy such future? As far as I can remember, sometime somewhere one of these teams had a good run for glory but in the end they all saw their talents get poached away and they were back hoping for a future that never came. And it's not like RLC, Pulisic and Rejjdejjjej are still youth prospects.

I said "in the next year or two". Even if some of them extend, those guys are 34+... Not exactly useful.

Why not hype a team that does what I would do, if I were to manage a team - go after younger players with potential? Forget Pulisic or Chukwueze. Reijnders and Musah could be also big for them. If any one of those 4 players actually turns out good he's a 60-70M player in today's market -> pays for all the other flops. It's venture capitalism basically.

You're missing the point here. Yes, we are doing good. Yes, their gambles might turn to shit.

I'll repeat for the n-th time - I'm not sure if we will continue doing as good in the near future if we continue to bet on "experienced players" AKA 34+ olds... Those transfers are simply too short-sighted for me and the problem only continues to worsen.

Referring back to the list from above - we have 7 players that are 34 and older. SEVEN PLAYERS. ø-Age - 28.08; last year it was 26.4.

In the meantime, we're winning fuck all. I don't give a flying fuck about Coppas or participating in CL/EL finals that are lost. I even forgot we were EL finalists just recently. We have 1 Scudetto in the last 12 years. Just as many as Napoli and Milan. And it was achieved by Zhang actually splurging on everything Conte wanted. This isn't happening again any time soon, if ever.

Yeah, I get your point. But with this owner, this is the sad reality.

Bro, are you sleeping at night? Real life ain't Football Manager where you build a team from 18 - 20 year old wonderkids. The core always has to have experience and we have serieal winners here and they are 24, 25, 26 years old. At their prime . Jesus man. What are your expectations? UCL and Scudetto every year? :D We had a painful banter era from 2012 to 2017 , 5 long hard years . And Rube had referees and North Italian economy behind .

We are currently F competitive and theres nothing I need to add to you. Acerbi, Darmian, Mikhy they are old, but they are kicking everybodys ass right now and thats all that matters. Acerbi was one the best central defenders in the whole Europe last season , right there with Cityboys.

You are way ahead of into the future, also try not to compare your life with your neighbours wherever you live and Inter with Milan.

Milan will sign Taremi in the end. Still negotiating. Probably will settle 2.5M€-3M wages. They want 5M€ net .

So its not a big difference. The selling price is almost TWICE lower than what they wanted from us. In the end this deal has to happen looking at their UCL group. Giroud can't start all.
