You guys should stop going full Nostradamus with this "guarantee this, guarantee that". One player does not guarantee success, specially one with two back to back poor seasons. Based on your 'prophecies' PSG should have reaped all the glories for the players they had, but the best they could manage was the domestic title in their one horse league.

Our success does not depend on Lukaku. And we should not fuck ourselves financially even more for this one guy. We're already in deep shit enough in that regard. We should follow a healthy formula which get us out of this mess and help us to stay competitive for many years to come.

Screwing ourselves financially for the sake of getting one guy, under the impression that he delivers the Scudetto is very short sighted. We should make an environment which help us fight for the titles every year, not to win one Scudetto every 10 years!

Fuck them.
The first time I wanna hug the owning team instead of cursing when being slapped an outrageous price for their player

Jesus christ the way Chelsea handle the market... always do the opposite of sensible. Instead of passing a bomb (in terms of financial burden) they choose to keep it. Lovely.

This is the perfect time to cut Lukaku from Inter. But I can see Beppe and Ausilio caving in, because Limone wants him.

This will be a very painful mercato merry go round if we splash all the money ( well 80%) we got from Onana on Lukaku.

Same. I want to thank Chelsea for staying firm on their 45m pricetag.

Great! Now concentrate on getting Augusto ( if you really want him) and the goalkeepers.

if Inter management had replaced Lukaku two seasons ago than this whole discussion would be moot. But now that your here, replacing Lukaku with himself is the shrewdest thing to do.

At the time Lukaku was sold, his replacements were Zapata, Scamacca, Thuram and Vlahovic. Apart from Thuram, who got injured , none of them would have justified their transfer fee at the time.

So it can be argued that not replacing Lukaku with any of the aforementioned wasn’t a bad idea. Whether, these players could have turned out better at Inter is speculation.

Funny thing is. United stand reports that ManU agreed personal terms with Hoijlund.

Now. Signing Lukaku for 45 MILLIONS, at a time when ManU sign Hoijlund for 50M€.

Please..Discuss!!

Hoijlund is hardly a sure thing - nor is Lukaku, obviously, but still. Why do people keep throwing around these 20 year olds like they're guaranteed fucking peak Adriano?

They will send Greenwood on loan there as a part of the deal most probably.
Anyway, we won't pay 45mln for Lukaku, so the discussion is pointless.

The only sure thing is Hojlund costing less than Lukaku and having 10 more years of service ;)

Not necessary Hojlund, the Lukaku money at this point (fee+salary) is as ridiculous as you can get any promosing striker on the planet, had he not come from the proven big category. Please, stop reacting as if young age is the synonym of netting an own goal hattrick.

Sure, but look if we'd taken that attitude in the past?

We could have signed Piatek, Andre Silva, Fabio Silva, Vlahovic, Simeone, etc

There are plenty of times where going for the "up and coming young player" would have been an absolute fucking disaster

Assuming the value is retained and even if it doesnt work out, will re-sell well, isnt guaranteed at all

We're talking about a 20 year old forward who has 9 goals in this league to his name. Yes, it'd be quite cool to sign him and hope he works out like Lautaro does into one of the league's next top forwards, but for 50mil that's a big jump of faith

We will sign Lukaku in the end anyway, because we are desperate for him to continue. He is still world known choker in the finals, but is killing small teams always and have probably built himself an influental daddy figure inside the dressing room by now. Inzaghi loves these kind of players because they are doing Limone's job itself. Motivating the team!

Its just funny watching us paying maximum value of 45M€ and not a cent more and at the same time handling ManU our main GK with a discount .

Putting the outliners aside. The sensible logic is either you sign costly young, so we can cut loss when flop. Or older at reasonable cost to cover the gap.

Signing expensive old is a recipe for disaster. All could see a ticking bomb happening. At this point people wanna sell their wating-to-drop to maximize the profit, not buying in. Especially for a team with <0m budget like Inter. We are not ManU to splash 55m for a couple of years of service.
