Any of you seen Dunkirk? Saw it couple days ago. A very raw experience that was very well executed. Loved it.

Emphasis on the "very well executed" part. Don't get me wrong, I liked Dunkirk quite a bit, but I prefer Nolan when he's aiming for more complex stories. Thought in this last one he pretty much left the historic fact speak for itself, which was ingenious in it's own way, but not the best use of his talents.

I think the movie did well with building tension, but at the end it got a bit old. And it's not even that long of a movie (for Nolan standards)

Just watched Kong Skull Island.

It is hard to choose what Kong movie was better, as both are absolutely retarded. I was hoping this movie would be a crazy action flick, which it was, but it wasn't crazy enough. Liked the humour, should have added more.

Watched Shot Caller, didn't expect much but turned out to be a really fucking good film. I love prison films/shows and highly recommend it.

Look for a Spanish movie called Cell 211, pretty entertaining prison stuff.

Have you seen The Prophet / Un Prophete, 2009? also Felon , 2008. These two are better than Shot Caller imo.

Cant wait for another Jamie Lannister Hollywood flick though.

Yep Felon is a good movie but I think Shot Caller was a little better imo. I'll put A Prophet on my list though, haven't seen that yet.

Quite a few decent films have come out on torrents recently like Alien, King Arthur, Lost City of Z, etc.. Gonna watch most of em this week if I can :alone:

The way the movie builds tension is quite incredible though. The way the sound, the soundtrack and the visuals combine to suck the viewer in without the use of much plot or character development is quite ingenious.

I would rewatch it for the sound and score alone.

Anyway, I loved it

Watched Alien Covenant, would give it 6.5/10 a bit too predictable but also there were some plot holes and major things they could have explained further. Hope the other sequels are better.

Also saw King Arthur and it wasnt what I expected to see actually, pretty good fantasy film as I didnt have any expectations for it.

The lost City of Z however was a bit dissapointing. Expected a lot but it was worth a watch, didnt know it was a true story (not as exaggerated obviously). It's quite a long film so I can see why some may find it boring.

I've seen Death Note. For someone completely unfamiliar with anime and the original story or whatever, it was a decent movie.

In my opinion the anime is one of the best TV shows ever made. Animated, anime, or otherwise. I'd recommend checking it out

Just came back from watching IT.

Ratings were great but the film wasnt amazing or anything. Considering most remakes are shit though, they did a decent job with this one. Probably give it a 6.5 or 7/10. Wasnt really scary either, just quite a few mild jump scares.

Not really a spoiler if you've seen the original, but as expected they will make a chapter 2 as this one was solely when they were kids.

As it's a modern bigger budget movie, so the cinematography has a dark feel to it which is great, and the scenes with cgi and Pennywise are done really well (Though I prefer Tim Curry's). Even the music has that creepy effect. It didnt feel as scary as the original imo, I remember the original as being a little more eery. The young actors killed it though, they were really good.

I guess it's because I watched the original when I was a kid so found it way more scary.

Fooking "it". Somehow I watched this when I was like 5 or 6 and was scarred for like a year. I once literally thought I saw a clown in my bedroom closet and ran out the room shaking and crying to my parents.

Fucking hate scary movies ever since... I think the last scary movie I saw was "the ring" and nah, never doing that again.

I just hate horrors with clowns, dolls and little kids.

Monsters, ugly killers, leatherfaces, hockey masks, cannibals etc, it's all good. But when it comes to clowns/dolls/kids, that stuff still gives me chills when watching.
