Fuck Icardi, why don't he score 50 goals a season like Messi? Total trash, we should've sold him and get Higuain instead.

You don't need to score 50 goals to win more games by helping more with the build up. We have seen him before, he was great against Barcelona (second game), my problem is why we can't get that Icardi most of the time.

And right now it's a pattern and patterns like that are a bad thing.

If Icardi demands the highest salary in Serie A in the new deal (bar Ronaldo, for obvious reasons; Higuain moves to PL), of course he should satisfy the highest standard. Don't know why so many of you got upset about asking more duties from him.

6 open goals in 20 matches is far from good enough.

That is what I agree. 6 open play goals is way too few for Icardi at this point.

Spalletti needs to implement a system with 2 attacking players. We can't keep playing him as the lone striker where he does nothing for 80 minutes of a match, while getting frustrated at his team-mates for not getting him the ball. Call him static or whatever, he needs Martinez to help him in and around the box. Don't know who you blame for his lack luster performances lately, but he has been extremely dissapointing for someone looking for 8+ M a year in salary.

i still insist i'd really like to see a more mobile, complete forward play up front for us.

Wanda Nara: "Mauro non ha chiesto mai nulla. Io non ho mai chiesto il rinnovo, quando mi chiamano mi siedo e parlo. Non posso passare sempre io dalla parte del torto".

(by gg) Wanda Nara: " Mauro never asked for anything. I never asked for renewal, when they call me I sit and talk. I can't always go on the wrong side ".

Okay I believe you :yao2:

She is right tho. She never asked for a renewal, she has only asked for an increased salary.

Icardi tried to link up play in 2-3 matches before this. If anything he tried to hard to do this thus he forgot his task as a goalscorer. Alas all of his link up plays ended up with the shots of Borja, Mario, and Politano :yao:

Dont worry, he'll start scoring again after he gets the contract. It has happened before.

Inter made Icardi a star.

Captain-worthy attitude, ha? Truth is service was poor and the whole squad played like shit and they all deserve a fuckin` ritiro.

Cambiasso said Spalletti will never play with 2 strikers up front, unless panic mode... I would also try to play with 2 or 3 up front, we are toothless like this, especially without a player to link up midfield with the forward department.

Not a best agent for a team captain but it is what it is. The renewal was never in jeopardy IMO.
+1. Actually Wanda being the agend benefits all parties: Icardi keeps his agent fees in his pocket, while the club gets to deal with a dumbass bitch. Sure she is a golddigger, but she can be tricked more easily than a pro agent, don`t you think? ;)

+1. This is exactly my point. He previously got his renewal after he was Capocannoniere [please check]. Now what did he do?
Instead of pushing for more, he seems self-sufficient and comfortably living on his fame. He is not hungry any more, which makes me think we are already paying him too much. If he wants more money, why doesn`t he show it on the pitch?

Remember when Icardi was scoring shots outside the area? Remember when he was setting up his team-mates? Now all he does is leave us play in 10 man and complain. Someone needs to tell him to train more, especially that we don`t have a free-kick specialist. If he wants to continue to be the star of this team, better keep working hard.

* expecting someone to post something about Nagatomo`s freekicks being better than Icardi`s..

SM: The new offer should exceed €7M annually and the Argentinian’s release clause could be raised to €180M. :chan: Why are we not removing that clause? I get the feeling we indeed hope to sell him one day as he`s toxic.

I don't know he is toxic or not but something smells in our attacking department. It's strange for me that Perisic who was the main feeder for Icardi last season, this season assisted only once to him. It looks like that they are totally disconnected. Almost same isthe situation with Politano. I've made a quick research and found out that Politano has 2 goals and 2 assists in these games where Icardi was missing (even thou that one of the assists is when Icardi come in, against Frosinone).
I don't say that it's Icardi's fault but it's obviously that our attacking players lack harmony and understanding, especially in the last touch.

Not true he got his latest renewal in september 2016 (according to transfermarkt) so he won one more capocannoniere and one serie a player of the year.

He never consistently scored from outside the area, plus while he was anonymous against Sass i would argue that his generall team play and build up play has never been as consistent as it was thus far this season.

Me too! Like Lautaro Martinez!

That is fair, and I agree with that. The team around him is not good enough. But I also believe that being the type of player he is does not help the team around him to be better.

exactly. he even brakes the teams creativity, pace, counter attacks etc, while all of our attacks limited to the flanks.

if we are defending and just winning the ball in midfield or defense, we cant counter at all, we need lots of side passes while the opponents cut back. because you cant pass to your first guy in front because he unable to do anything with the ball (running with ball, dribbling etc.) you must always pass to the wingers to take the ball upfront. thats awful gameplay.

That is just bullshit. If Icardi has space, the ball can be passed to him. He is good at covering the ball and dish it forward. He isn't the best dribbler of the world, but it doesn't matter. Usually he is marked by two guys so it's not wise to try to pass to him. Our game plan is to play it through wings since Icardi draws two defenders. Wings are the places where the space is.

"isn't the best dribbler"? Icardi can't dribble at all.
He has smart tactical awareness, great positioning and can flick the ball fast. But he possesses not enough strength to shield the ball. Your standard in that aspect is quite low.
"Mark by two guys". Is there any striker in one striker formation not marked by at least two guys? @@

Bullshit. Teammates cant pass him 30-40 metres from the opponents goal, because he cant do anything with the ball but passing it back or 2 wings. CBs can have no worry when he get a ball far from the goal the y can even have a coffee. Icardi won't/cant dribble, starts running towards the goal with the ball etc.

Icardi 'close to Inter renewal'
By Football Italia staff

Mauro Icardi is reportedly close to signing a new contract with Inter worth €7m a season.

According to Sport Mediaset, Inter owner Zhang Jindong and his President-son Steven personally stepped into negotiations with Icardi.

The broadcaster explains they offered the striker a €7m salary and a €180m release clause for foreign clubs, valid from July 1 to July 15.

Consequently, it now considers the Nerazzurri captain putting pen to paper ‘a mere formality’ as ‘the white smoke is getting closer’.

Icardi’s agent-wife Wanda Nara claimed earlier in the month that a new deal was ‘far away’, but her remarks since then have been more optimistic.
