Thanks. And this is against two of the least mobile and one dimensional forwards in the league. People will of course interpret it whatever way they like, but personally I believe Icardi spends most of his time trying to make an itch perfect run behind the opposition defence in hope of receiving an inch perfect pass, and more often that pass doesn't come. Which basically means our midfielders and wide attackers have no outlet most of the time. Which I believe contributes to why our attack is so disjointed. This is just my theory of course. I'm sure others will interpret these stats as proof that Icardi would score more often if he was playing at Verona and the issue is entirely with our other players.
There are a few points I disagree with Shaun. This season before this last one he was joint top scorer alongside Luca Toni. I think Icardi is one of the most lethal strikers around and surrounded with the right players such as an ozil he can lead any team to victory. At inter we are not built for this type of forward which is why offensively we look so bad. Especially last season with absolutely 0 creativity in our midfield.
