If we somehow forget that miss, I think he was decent - held the ball well, gave a few nice passes, tracked back..

But yeah, he definitely needs to score, he is total shit now in terms of self-confidence.

He allready had a few scoringpoints this season and was also not the luckiest one. His link up play is quiet usefull. Szesny did a miracle save yesterday

I am holding on to hope .... that he scores 1x and his mental block will go away and then he will be valuable for the end of the season.

It would be funny to be champion with pretty much only 2 guys scoring for us

Not quite a miracle save like the one on Barella, but he still made himself big and closed the space down very very well. Not that I want Arnautovic here but people need to start giving credit to players on the other team too. I actually think he should have opened his body up and smashed it with his right foot but it is what it is.

I did. And I said it was an excellent save, but it wasn’t a perfect shot by Arna. Barella absolutely smashed the ball on his chance and it was heading right for the bottom corner if not for an immaculate intervention, albeit a bit of luck too.

The thing was that Barellas shotwent kind of straight in the direction of Scezny. Sure it was a nice save but the Arnautovic shot was stopped with a Neuerlike superman reaction with his arm needing to reach the ball

He actually does a number of things well. Holding up the ball, laying it off, etc. Outside of the Verona match where he was horrendous, his other appearances in the last few months have generally been ok. Big issue is he just can't score. Even against Lecce, the guy did a backheel assist that most players wouldn't even attempt, but missed pretty much an open net (on a chance that he himself started off with a nice pass to Thuram before getting the assist from Barella).

Even against Fiorentina, his one good finish was the offside goal.

Obviously he's been a huge disappointment, but need to hope he can get some goals at some point. He's actually getting into chances so it's not like his movement is poor or doesn't fit with the team. Even a few goals we scored, his movement helped open up the space (Frattesi goal against Milan, Lautaro winner against Napoli). He just has no confidence at all with finishing.

Torres has scored 11 goals that season. For Arnautovic even 5 would look good as of right now.

Doesn't mean a 28yo and starting XI Arnautovic would score as much as Torres. For somebody the quality just isnt there hence never reach the point of comparison.

Yeah, you're right.

I think I confused it with the final because his goal was so clutch, and also he had not scored for a long time, and was becoming a meme to fans and teammates.
