Not really, but I believe Cordoba is the best CB we got, Matrix might be better in the air, but he doesnt even come close to Cordoba's defensive abilities...

You said Matrix is better than Cordoba. If I was you I'd use some acid to burn off my fingerprints, have some plastic surgery, change name and move to Brasil.

Still, Don Han will track your sorry ass down and dispose of you! :dielaugh:

I don't know how can one say that statement! Matrix isn't even worthy of wearing the inter shirt.

Comparing him and Cordoba is like comparing Ronaldinho to Morfeo.

There are objective opinions and there are fixed ones. The general consensus is Cordoba is definitely better than Materazzi. Maybe you'd like to give some reasons as to why you think the latter is a better defender? :)

Ciao,
Tim

The only thing Materazzi will beat Cordoba in will be in a street fight.

In a second thought, I think Cordoba will beat him there too.

If you think that Cordoba is scared of a man 20 cm taller than him, recall back the match in Rigamonti (How ironic, that we will play our next game there) 2 years back when he almost lashed out at Igli Tare. :D

Cordoba is really unique. He can jump, mark and tackle like a six foot guy when he is only 5'8''. I remember some ESPN commentators saying that Cordoba is the toughest and quickest defender in Serie A. I just wish he gets more exposure to the soccer world.

Yeah he's a tough little bugger, though I shouldn't be saying that when he's taller than me. Still, he doesn't look like a person you wanna tangle with.... either on or off the pitch.

I can see Cordoba taking over the captain's armband when and if (a pretty big 'if') JZ retires/leaves. His loyalty already equals some of the Inter greats just by denying Real Madrid, instead going to a foreign country and learning a new language. And the fact that he choose a struggling club like Inter instead of perennial champions of La Liga, tells you something about him.

He should, unless Cambiasso usurps his throne anytime soon. Is it very telling of this club's nature that our current captain and possible future ones are all non-Italian? :)

Yeah, they should give the captain's arm-band to Mihajlovic. :D

LOL Hamed

I also truely doubt that Cordoba will beat Matrix in street fight. Cause Matrix is an expert in shady methods. Just look at how he is on the pitch, Imagine how he will be without any referee. :scared:

Now that we got Walter Samuel.....

I’ll battle for shirt, says Materazzi - August 2, 2005

Inter defender Marco Materazzi is ready to fight for a first team shirt following the arrival of Walter Samuel.

The capture of the Real Madrid stopper does cast Materazzi’s future into doubt, as many expect the Argentine to partner Ivan Cordoba in defence.

But Materazzi, who was linked with a move to Fiorentina this summer, is refusing to throw in the towel.

"The arrival of Samuel could be considered as bad news for me because it will be harder to win a first team shirt," explained the former Everton and Perugia stopper.

"However, I have demonstrated my worth and boss Roberto Mancini perfectly knows what he can get out of me.

"I am ready to respond to all of his needs. All I ask is that I am given a level playing field on which to perform on."

Nevertheless, there are some whispers in Italy on Tuesday which suggest Materazzi could leave in an effort to gain regular action.

Materazzi wants to be a part of Italy’s 2006 World Cup plans and that hope could now be in jeopardy following the capture of ‘The Wall’.

Fiorentina could renew their interest, even if stories in Spain claim that Valencia want him in a possible swap deal with striker Marco Di Vaio.

The latter is being watched by the Italian club as they are still on the look-out for a fifth forward following the departure of Christian Vieri to Milan.

I hope he doesnt get the boot from Inter and I do hope he makes the National Squad for 2006. :scared:  :scared:
