I reckon the interest in our former youth product has risen enough for him to deserve his own thread.

Bari Defender Leonardo Bonucci Won’t Take Sides In Inter-Juventus Transfer Race
But the youngster admits that Mourinho can swing the balance in the Nerazzurri’s favour.

Italian international centre-back Leonardo Bonucci admits he would be equally happy if he joined either Inter or Juventus in the close season.

The 22-year-old is co-owned by Genoa and Bari, where he is enjoying a superb first full season in Serie A, but his youth club Inter and Juve are expected to do battle to secure his services this summer, with the Nerazzurri allegedly in pole position.

“I don’t know anything about my future,” Bonucci explained to Sky Sport 24.

“The co-ownership will be discussed in June. But it would be a source of pride for me to play with either Inter or Juve.

“However, I am still really attached to the Inter shirt and Jose Mourinho is a great boss and a great man. It would be a massive pleasure for me to be coached by him.”

Bonucci spent three years in the Inter set-up from 2006 to 2009 and made his top-flight debut under former Beneamata boss Roberto Mancini.

id like him back. inter youth products that make it big are few and far in between (at least compared to juve, roma or atalanta). and his youth team product status is extra incentive

I would love to get both. But its not gonna happen. Not this summer at least. I don't see either of Samuel, Lucio, Chivu, Matrix or Cordoba leaving us. The latter 3 will retire with us and Samuel and Chivu would be un-sellable at this point of time.

I prefer to get only Ranocchia.

Somebody should make a law around here saying that if GOAL.SHIT is the only source you have for a transfer talk then it should not be accepted.

Yeah there has been some talk about this, but not enough/nothing serious imo. Thread should wait till summer.

And please never ever EVER again use Goal.shit as your source.

Getting him back will be awesome. I agree with most ppl here that I think Ranocchia is better of the two and we should only get Bonucci after him. If Ranocchia at 2011 Jan to replace Matrix and Bonucci a year or two after for Cordoba.... bow to Branca and co.

There are quite a few rumors from italian sites. Search the general defender thread.

The main rumor is we plan to get an option on him by acquiring genoa's half but leave him at genoa/bari for a while yet.

I'd prefer we get Rannochia then Fernandes and then in a couple of years once some people retire we bring him in. That's just me though. I would hate to see an Inter youth product who actually loves the club play for Juve or any other big name club for that matter. I wonder if the Stefan Bell rumors are true.

As long as he doesn't end up at Juve... god I would puke!

Damn wish we had payed an extra 3-4mil for Milito+Motta and kept this kid then sent him on loan, instead of selling him and having to face the prospect of buying him back for 10-15mil in the future!

I know how you feel ;) ^. But if you remember how every "other" fan was panicking when we bought Milito and Motta!? You'd know that there would've been a rebellion if we paid extra for them (even though they're proving their worth big time!)

Our reserve back 4 (2nd XI) should be: Santon (RB), Ranocchia (DC), Bonucci (DC), Criscito (LB). Which could be an all Italian back 5 depending who goes in goal? [Toldo, Castelazzi, Marchetti or Sirigu?]

Even so, he has great potential which has to be realised at one of the big clubs and it might as well be Inter. Otherwise we will just let Juve have another Chiellini. I say rather take him now before he has developed deep roots...why shoudln't we benefit from others lack of long term vision (after all we have been on the receiving end of our past decisions with the likes of Frey, Roberto Carlos, Bergkamp, Pirlo etc.)
