that team is full of shit!!! must be a bbilan fan who wrote the article...

Nearly the one is a know juventino. Not sure who mister scime supports thought.

Picking bonucci is a joke imho. Yeah he had a good season but ranocchia was the better of the two bari defenders. How maicon, lucio and cambiasso doesn't make the side is a joke. Side has no dmc at all.

How was Ranocchia so much better than Bonucci? Ranocchia played little less than half of the season. I don't think he can be rated over Bonucci by playing half less.

He was the star of that defense. Compare their defensive with him and without him. He was the leader that defence. Bonucci is a good man market but he didn't have the impact that ranocchia did.

His injury had a similiar effect to what happend to milan when nesta went down. Thiaggo silva still a good defender but not the leader type who can organise the defence.

But how can you say that? That it was exactly Ranocchia who made that defence so great. He had Bonucci right next to him. How can you be so sure the defence would have been that great if Bonucci wasn't there? Why Bonucci is rumored to Inter, Juve and England?

Nothing is ever sure. But that's how I see. Also for the record ranocchia has also been rumored to juve. From what I have seen he is the better player. We can judge in the next few season whether I am right.

Nothing is ever certain and this could be because of a number of reasons, but...

With Ranocchia
17 GP, 16 GA, 0.94 GAPG

Without Ranocchia
21 GP, 33 GA, 1.57 GAPG

Close to double the amount of goals allowed per game without Ranocchia.

Yes I know those stats. But there was Bonucci with Ranocchia. What if they were, as duo, that good, and it was not just Ranocchia who made the defence so good? We don't have stats with only Ranocchia playing there without Bonucci. Do you catch my drift?

I don't think it's a biased list. It's a good attempt and tried to be balanced where it was debatable.

Yes, it's undestandable, and it certainly has a point

The bottomline is Rano has been out since January and frankly you don't know how he will comeback, he might take a awhile to regain his form (6 months to a year) or *knock on wood* he could get injured again?

Bonucci on the other hand has played lots of games and is going to play even more at a high level this summer. Tight now it would be a lot easier to intergrate Bonucci into the squad, not to mention the fact he probably knows half the back staff from his primavera days.

But we don't need a starter so its not essential for him to integrate straight away. This purchase is to secure the defence for the future.

With that in mind even with his injury ranocchia is the better buy imho.

Preziosi says that they will get the remaining half of Bonucci from Bari.

That will make the negotiations easier for Inter to get Bonucci if we are intending to make the move.

edit. I don't have much preferences over these two. Bonucci is the one who can be used earlier because of Ranocchia's injury. Both are tall (Bonucci 1,90m, Ranocchia 1,95m), both have been called to NT (Ranocchia misses WC obviously, Bonucci makes it), so they are both very prospective young central defenders. If I had to choose, I'd take Bonucci because of his Inter background, the current situation and the player type. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've understood Bonucci is more the man marking player like Cordoba/Lucio for us. IMO we need more that kind of player in the near future than the sweeper player like Samuel/Materazzi/Chivu.

Hopefully we'll get Bonucci now and get an option to Ranocchia or something. Mario Fernandes is only third in the list for me, I prefer Italian-based player in this one for obvious reasons.

yea. it's to be taken with a pinch of salt. it's obviously not as if they're putting Bonucci at RB and saying he's been the best RB in serie A this past season. it's not as if they're saying he's better than Maicon haha. it's not a "strongest serie A side" but more of a side of people who deserve special mentions. although Nesta and Vucanic shouldn't be there anyway

I bought them both on FM last week

Rannochia's stats are like Materazzi and Bonucci's more like samuel. they're stats aren't amazing but they both get good match ratings

... also Moratti sold the club in the first season and Figo bought it haha. Figo's now the owner

Think Figo buying the club is odd. Michel Platini bought mine. That's right, the president of UEFA!

It sounds like Bonucci will be making a move somewhere earlier, so we probably do not want to risk losing out on a talented young Interista like him.

Ranocchia's injury has probably set him back and he will remain owned by Genoa for the next season.

From my understanding the plan of inter is to sign ranocchia but leave him at genoa for the first half of the season and then take him in january.

Inter should intervene and pay both parties a reasonable fee. :)
