Bruh, we ain't talking about history here. It's a simple logic really. If you hate certain race or think your race is superior than theirs, then you are a racist. History doesn't matter when you're abusing someone racially.

Just because whites had black slaves doesn't mean black people can now get away with doing racist things because 'they were once slaves'. Equality and all that shit.

How can definitions like that explain why are certain races, for example, significantly more "represented" in jails than a more numerous race is? That definition implies they are inherently bad, therefore it's justice. Definition that just describe and explain nothing are not definitions.

Here is another example where that definitions like "Every discrimination on basis of race is racism" fail: there is a huge social force in USA against racism, yet they regularly fail to stop it. Why? Because racism is not just about beliefs and thoughts.

In some countries black people, Romani (like in mine) etc can insult dominant race as much as they like, but if there is no judicial, political, educational marginalization behind it, it's just discrimination, not racism. No matter how insulted you feel.

Only in intent, in that people can like black people and still be racist. I was more comparing having a black friend and liking black players. I think it's a similar brand of mentality, even if not on a similar magnitude.

It's the socio-economic issues that cause a certain race to be more 'represented' in jail than another. For e.g. X person born into a ghetto in a family with a lower income has way more chance to go on an illegal path in order to gain financial goods than a person born in a more financially privileged family, regardless of the race. There are also cultural issues as well. Like for example some Romani (Gypsy) people were offered a place to live in some newly built residential buildings here but they trashed the place after a week and went back to living in the streets and begging for money. Or there are for example people that are attracted by the whole gang life, mainly inspired by their surroundings and mainstream media.

The only way to avoid these issues is providing education to the people, regardless of their race or financial status.

Racism doesn't equal how insulted you feel. Someone can call me a cracker or w/e and I won't feel insulted. Doesn't mean that person isn't being a racist.

Also the judical, political, educational etc. marginalization based on race are part of institutional racism, which is a sort of branch in racism in itself (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Institutional_racism).
