The orange stand is for neutral spectators. Curva Nord almost always filled up. The question is whether we have enough CN members to fill even the orange stand?

Neutral spectators ??? We're not Manchester United to cater for customers.

Don't Inter still have the highest average attendance in Serie A? There might be a small amount that stopped coming because of poor results, but there's been a drop in Serie A attendance as a whole, not just Inter. And I think ticket prices are the main culprit.

A club like Inter should never have a drop in attendance.

Yup. Unfortunately that's the fact and what the tour guide told me. The guy in front of me when I attended the home Parma game was a Parma fan.

So people should go to every game, even if they can't afford to? I don't get it.

20 000 seats for neutral customers

The people in Spain are in the same economic situation. They go every week.

Juve are dominating the league and still can't completely fill a stadium half the size of Meazza. Part of the reason it looks empty is because it's such a huge stadium. Not to mention the difference between Inter and Milan in terms of average attendance.

It seems that that the majority of the curva don't understand the commercial realities of football nowadays. If they had things their way the league being the equivalent of the Dutch league.

Interesting debate. My first reaction to the banner was negative also, but I agree with what Visca and Ed are saying about modern football evolving and fans feeling marginalized. Tifo is indeed their best media / forum to express messages to the league, the club, the government, the public, etc. Here we are talking about it. It creates a dialogue.

At the end of the day, it's a political statement, right? Italian football is changing, Inter is changing. Thohir is bringing the American Sport Franchise model to Inter and the die-hards want to make sure they are not forgotten during this evolution of the club.

The truth is that from a financial perspective, the tifosi are not very important to the club. The revenue generated from those 10,000 season ticket holders is peanuts compared to world-wide sponsorship, TV, and merchandising deals. It's therefore understandable that the tifosi feel threatened by the modernization of the game.

Its a reminder of their role in the history of the game and a plea to people with money and power to ensure this history and tradition is not forgotten. The manner and timing in which it was conveyed was definitely self-important, but in many ways, that's the whole point.

If not for them, there would be no atmosphere at matches to speak of. It would be like it is in the UK - with the exception of a few clubs like Liverpool, the atmosphere in the PL as a whole is a joke. And a lot of that is because of restrictions put on fans in the modern game. The way things are there makes it impossible for organized displays, for example.

And it's not that they don't recognize the reality, they just disagree with it. The bottom line, football should be about passion, not about money.

Agree with the points Visca is making on the basis that Im feel the same feelings as a Celtic fan. The famed atmosphere has/is being killed again by the club execs.

That ship is sailed. It's now about money. Basically everything about everything is about money If the fans want some type of happy medium then fine, but to expect wholesale changes is just unrealistic

Passionate supporters can still be a part of the game without the racist taunts, bullish behaviours and hateful banners !

From a artistic perspective, I thought it was beautiful. Perhaps one of the best I've seen.

Now about the message... I don't know... They make banners for Inter the entire season. It's ok if it's dedicated to the fans once. No big deal in my eyes.

I agree about removing racism, but you can combat racism (and I mean real racism, like monkey chants etc) without punishing everyone. Closing entire sections for the actions of a few is ridiculous. They want modern football, then they should use the technology available to find the actual offenders and deal with them on an individual level. And they should stop overreacting about "territorial discrimination" when there are much worse things going on like institutionalized racism. Lega Nord is able to exist as a legitimate political party in the country, yet a bit of banter about Neapolitans at a football match is the worst thing in the world?

.

I agree with this. Very spectacular.

As for the message I feel if the Curva want to illicit change their message needs to be more concise rather than having a list of things they disagree with.

X2. Looks good, but the message is rubbish.

@Visca - that's what I'm talking about, there's other ways to correct the problems but they need to stop whinging about consequences from THEIR ACTIONS. Its the actions that are unacceptable.

inter banners are always the best. Dortmund Gala and maybe 1-2 other club can do it better but im sure Curva Nord deserves the top 10 in this category. And Bilan-Juve banners sucks

interesting banner tonight (link):

tifo-nord.jpg

The Interisti in the Curva Nord set off a massive Tifo before the game against Napoli and here is the meaning of the book chapters:

“No TV organization is interested in what the fans want but without the shouting and movement of the people football is nothing. The history of football lies in passion. And it will always be like this. Without the passion football is dead: only 11 men on a field kicking a ball around. Basically complete bullshit. It’s the supporters who make football something important.”

That’s the message from the Curva Nord tonight.
