Joao Mario: 'Inter treatment despicable'

Inter outcast Joao Mario has slammed the club’s treatment of him. “Inter paid €40m for me and treated me like a kid. It was despicable.”

The Portuguese midfielder is currently on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow from the Nerazzurri following a failed stint in Italy.

Joao Mario was one of the first major signings of the Suning era at Inter, joining for €40m in the summer of 2016.

However things didn’t work out, and he was sent on loan to West Ham in January 2018.

He returned to Inter and played sporadically throughout the 2018-19 season, before going out on loan again to Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow this season.

Speaking to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Joao Mario slammed the club’s ethics.

“I could not train or play in friendly matches like everyone else,” Joao Mario told the newspaper.

“I trained alone with Mauro Icardi. I don’t understand their position, because Inter paid €40m for me and treated me like a kid. It was despicable.

“I found a less stable club than Sporting CP; a lot of confusion, change of coaches, a badly prepared season.

“I’m sorry that much more happened off the pitch than on it.”

Didn't he already say something like this at West Ham, then they didn't buy him and he had to apologise? I hope to christ Lokomotiv have assured him they're buying him.

His wage was around 2.7 million after tax and this is what he calls being treated badly

Where do i sign

I mean we are allowed to say inter was a madhouse with bad management and no stability, but for Joao Mario to come out and say it?...excuse me no thank you, we are perfectly fine and very well run.

Milan wants all our trash... why haven’t they made an offer for him yet

Can we stop buying guys from Portugal, Roma or directly from Brazil. I can’t remember a player for any of those places that didn’t fail epically

Lokomotiv Moscow Want To Sign Joao Mario Permanently From Inter

Lokomotiv Moscow want to sign Joao Mario on a permanent basis from Inter at the end of the season according to a report from transfer market expert Nicolo Schira.

The Portuguese midfielder is currently out on loan at the Russian Premier League club and they have an option to sign him on a permanent basis for a sum of €18 million.

However, according to Schira, Lokomotiv Moscow want to sign him for less and he claims that talks are ongoing between the two clubs.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder joined Inter in the Summer of 2016 as one of then new owners Suning’s first purchase in a circa €40 million deal from Portuguese powerhouses Sporting.

Joao Mario however failed to live up to expectations and failed to ever cement a place in the team under multiple managers at the Nerazzurri.

This season he has made 15 appearances across all competitions in which he has scored one goal and provided four assists for his teammates.

Marseille have set their sights on signing Inter midfielder Joao Mario in the coming months according to a report from Italian news outlet FCInterNews.it.

The Portuguese midfielder is currently out on loan at Russian Premier League side Lokomotiv Moscow and they have an option to buy him but they deem the €18 million fee to be too high for them.

The report goes on to claim that Joao Mario would like to play in either Spain or France and a move to Marseille would allow him to do just that. Marseille have in fact already made some enquiries to the 27-year-old’s representatives with regard to him possibly moving to the Stade Velodrome. As far as a move to Marseille goes, it is still very much in infancy but could be something that develops further and further as time goes on. Marseille are not the only club seemingly interested in the former Sporting player either with the report also stating that La Liga outfit Real Betis are too.

Fingers crossed, we need to sell his ass this year!

Marseille will propose only a loan. Same goes for Spanish clubs. We can get rid of JM if we sell him to Lokomotiv for cheap, maybe 12m€ will do? Guess that might cover his book value so we wouldn't do net deficit.

I would accept every bid which cover his book value, don't think we will get much more for him.

We spend 40m for him one of the worst thing any club could do!
I hope we sell him for a reasonable price

We should have just loaned him to Portugal, a league where he can look like a top player again so we can at least get some of his transfer fee back. Oh well...
