Well finally there's something on Inter.it about JZ and his last home game... It's quite lame though.

You guys who follow Inter from 1990,
I have one question for you guys.
Do you feel the same thing when our legend Giuseppe Bergomi was retiring?
I don't know until now why #2 jersey still on there and wore by the likes of Jono...
and today if they retire #4, that's really insult Bergomi, but from the bottom of my heart, I want those two numbers retired.

They retired #3 when Facchetti died, in his honour, for the reasons I'm sure you know off. We can't retire every number after a loyal player retires though... but you do have a valid point.

I don't know about you guys, but I think retiring numbers is so stupid. The Numbers should become an honor to wear, so that we can identify other players with the legends that once wore them. I can't see the point of retiring numbers. It's like with CR7 and Raul. He get's in his footsteps. And if I imagine that JJ for example is going to stay at Inter for a while, I would be happy to say "JJ wear's Zanetti's number".

Well of course you have to watch who get's it. But still if JJ was in the club for some years and he would play good it would make me happy to see him wear it, as an example. It would remind me of Zanetti for ever. The Numbers have to live on, not die...if we go on like that all the first 11 numbers will be gone, that would be stupid.

Well I have a reason to retire number, Bergomi only wear this shirt in his whole career, just like Maldini and Baresi, and Milan retired their numbers if am not mistaken...
Unlike JZ but he did show loyalty, when a club like Madrid wanted to get you, and you decided to stay, you have to respect that kind of player, JZ made most appearance with this shirt, and he also deserve to get his number retired...

Well yeah, like I said before, Bergomi deserved that, only wear this color in hi whole career says it all...

I wouldn't say it's stupid. I just think it kind of sends the message of ''We can never have a player reach these heights again so we won't try''

A player dying is a different topic but I'd like to see the #4 being used in the future.

4>3 for me.

Id rather return the number 3 and retire for good the number 4 than retire them both lol

Aurel has a valid point tho, these numbers should be used and only given to world class players.

that's because you're generation 4 not 3. if you were witnessing 3, you probably would say otherwise. Ask i4e or others..

well, to my opinion, 4 shouldn't be retired unless jz has done something more than just being a former captain. like facchetti who won it through his career as a player, captain, and president, the man who laid the foundation for the treble.

Emm, JZ made the most appearance in this club, winning the treble, last almost 20 years, and soon become director.. That should be something, Maldini get his number retired for the same reason too..

Bergomi wanted to contribute for Inter, Moratti refused.

I4E should retire the '4' in his name for Zanetti.
