what I meant is, for Roma (or any other serie A team who finishes 6th) to get the Cl ticket, Atalanta needs to finish lower than 4th place or else serie A won't have 6 spots in the next season.

While this is true for the sporting side, it's imperative that Serie A imports as much CL money as possible nowadays and hopefully someone in FIGC can takeover and improve the TV deals.
On the other hand, a strong presence in Europe now may solidify the current dinosars at their post.
