Gazzetta dello Sport: Italy’s undersecretary of state for Health Sandra Zampa has called for Serie A to be suspended following the 14 positive cases of Covid-19 at Genoa, while league officials have called an extraordinary meeting at 3pm local time today.
How fucking dumb are these guys?
It would be impossible to fucken finish the season if we halt all of serie a every time a player tests positive. Also how on earth is there not already a protocol in place for such a case? There should not be a meeting now to decide there should be a plan how to handle the situation already in place.
Bunch of fucken amateurs apparently non of those idiots ever heard of risk management.
And then we wonder why serie A fell that far behind well managed leagues.
EDIT: Does that mean will not play today? Theres nothing on our site that says we re not playing today....
Once again fucken amateurs how do we not know 5h before the game wether we ll play or not?
theres a difference between one player being out and most of the team like Genoa.
It's the right decision, the league should be suspended for a couple of weeks. I expect to see similar problems arise in other coutnries.
Sorry how is it the right decision? First of it s Genoas problem everybody else could protect their players, like are we gonna stop now for genoa and then when it happens to some other team and we realize we cannot finish serie a if we stop again we just say fuck that team?
Also whats the benefit off stopping all the other games? Like who cares if genoa and one or two teams are one match back? Especially if it s teams that don't play in europe anyway and have ample time to make up the missed games. No we rather delay the entire serie a cause the fucken Lega did not think of making a plan in case such a situation occurs, it s amateurish at best.
On top of that we cannot do more then test all the players right before the game if they test negative we have to live with risk of some of them only showing positive results after the match otherwise why even play? We simply cannot eliminate that risk not even if we d stuff them all in a bubble alla NBA.
Stopping the campionato now is dumb it shows that there was 0 organisation/ risk management/contengency planning from the lega and it will make sure that a couple of weeks down the road when it s gonna be another team with a couple of cases we re once again gonna be in chaos and once again the lega is gonna stand there with their dicks in their hand and without a plan and i can guarantee you they ll wanna handle the situation different then they do now.
On top of all that they let the monday game go on like wtf they knew about the outbreak on monday but the idea to postpone only comes 5h before the next game starts???
Also has a single Napoli player caught it? If no wtf is the hold up?
Again i m not sure how anybody can think this is what competent management would do.....
Not saying its easy to protect from the virus but thats exactly the point we cannot guarantee that so we now stop the campionato every time that a team has a couple of cases(which is pretty likely as getting just one case in a team seems unlikely)?I personally kinda hate the mentality that its just as simple asp rotecting yourself from the virus. There's loads of attack vectors and even someone being precautious could catch it. Furthermore, what are the options? We postpone 3 weeks of Genoa's matches because they're unavailable? What happens if another team has an outbreak? Or do we make Genoa default 3-0 (like some countries have done)?
Agreed but if anything the fact that i dont know of a single Napoli player who got it should be encouraging if anything as they obviously played against people who had it. Incubation time might be a explanation to that i guess will know in a couple of days. If they were concerned about the public safety why has no decision on re banning fans been made? Also how are we safer in 3 weeks when genoa players are negative again? Virus will still be around and chances of another team catching it will be the exact same as if only Genoa sat out.I dont think anyone is saying there's no risk, but if you haev a large part of your squad out with COVID, suspension makes sense. And I think the point here is that Serie A needs to look at the risk to the players, and wider society. In the UK it's starting to get a bit bad again, and with people like Thiago now self-isolating after COVID, it might only be a matter of time before one of the big teams has a real problem tbh/
You probably right on this.Incubation time probably?
Looks like all Napoli players tested negative for COVID. That's a relief.
It could have been some kind of lab/ testing error in the first place, who knows.
Why did Gasperini not do that stuff here...
