It's clear Napoli winning is the best outcome for us.

We still have massive holes and need CL revenue for next season. Definitely cheering for Lazio/Roma/Milan to lose any game. We have so many issues and I don't even see us catching Napoli anyway.

Why can't we have a player like Quagliarella? Let's buy him.

Hands off, he's our boy.

Btw I'd like to be Napoli useful for once and not bend over, go for glory and go out on their shield tonight.

Jesus Christ I wish we played like Napoli.

They play a 4-3-2-1/4-3-2-1 system with Callejon as a free role or both Callejon and Mertens in a free role, depending on the occasion in a way that it makes it an assymetric 4-4-2 with Callejon as the winger and Zielinski as a wide left sided midfielder.

Zielinski is one season away from becoming world class.

And now the fun part, their defence is bad and Lazio scores :D

2-1 Immobile. Bastos should have had a clear red by the way. Horrible foul on Zielinski. No VAR called.

I didn't actually know this, but Acerbi sent off, meaning his run of 149 consecutive matches in Serie A comes to an end, thereby meaning he can't beat the record currently held by...

Javier Zanetti :proud:

I miss him so much

Lulic is such a disgraceful player. I wonder if Juventus will ever sign him, he fits there.

No, I get my team news from Google.

Ight. Why don't you start? You seem like you'd fit in a forum community, to be able to not be banned for this long as a Juve fan around here is quite commendable. Saying that, the last guy we had here was 'Serie A' who pretended to be an Inter fan for a couple of weeks, then the mask dropped, he called us twats or losers or something and was banned. So the bar is fairly low

Aaaaaand there's Inzaghi getting in the refs face. Probably won't be banned for it either.

I feel like that's a system we could actually have implemented if Joao Mario hadn't turned out to be mediocre, seeing as he can cover both CM and RM. Shame, because they get some really fluid football out of it. Zielinski is fantastic, agreed.

This is puzzling on how Napoli is able find quality players and their purchases have hardly been flops. Did their net spending exceed yours in the past three years?

Yup that first yellow for Acerbi was ridiculous. He was looking up at the ball at the same time, and Callejon just stops to make sure Acerbia barges into him. Not even close to a yellow.

For Quagliarella only respect. What a season he has!

Every few years in Italy is a grandpa, who rules.
Quagliarella, Di Natale, Toni and the best of them Dario Hübner.

Hübner, that motherfucker, had his debut in Serie A at 30y old, after he spent his whole life in lower divisions. At 35y he was the top goalscorer in Serie A with fucking Piacenza. He put that team on his shoulder and saved them from relegation.

One thing not many people know about Quagliarella is that a stalker made his life a living hell for 5 years, between 2010 and 2015. It was a carabiniere (a policeman from the army. I think only Italy has such a thing) who at first made friends with him but he became suffocating first and openly aggressive later on, taking advantage of his position as a police officer and spreading the rumour that Quagliarella slept with underage girls, among other things. He was finally sentenced to 4 years of prison in 2017, but because of him quagliarella's career got a hit in that period.

@Icardi gif
That was a horrible cross :palm: and to suddenly change direction after full sprint is very difficult. Slipped or not, Icardi was not to blame in that situation as the chance was wasted anyway. That gif is much more suitable in the Politano's thread, but I expect nothing less from Icardi hater to shit on him regardless of the circumstances.

I want to applaud Napoli as a team as the team is greater than the sum of its parts. It is guaranteed if the likes of Diawara, Zielinski, or Callejon move to Inter, they will end up worse than Vecino, Santon, or Joao Mario. Most of Napoli players were nobody when they signed to the club yet they sit above clubs with much larger budgets including us. In contrast, most of our signing were prospectives with high price tag yet look at how our midfielders destroyed their careers here.

I still think that Zapata is more technical then Icardi tbh. And yesterday Icardi had good chances to score, he don't neccesary need Gareth Bales assist to score something like this:

There was a much better solution than trying to shoot and score. If Icardi would have stood instead of slipped he would have done it.
