This is such bullshit. I feel bad for the family of the deceased Raciti, I really do, but why should everyone else be punished because of some coked-up criminals in Catania? Hopefully Inter and Milan work quickly to get their fans back into the Meazza.

And God help us if Serie A becomes like the Premiership. They have great crowds and great football (the latter is debateable) but the atmosphere stinks in alot of grounds. It's almost as bad as North American sports where people clap or cheer only when something good happens. It's horrible. :yuck:

I hope I cleared to everyone my stance, especially Fabio and Katie and Stefan, they seem to get the wrong idea.

in the Italy bid for euro2012 SanSiro is presented as the best Italian stadium....but, now it doesn't fit the protocol.....such a hipocrisy....
i just hope moratti and galliani use their influence to allow us to play in front of the crowd.....so i can still go to watch Inter-roma in april:D

Apparently they have been working the whole day on san siro. There will be an inspection at 10 tomorrow morning and milan-livorno might still be played infront of fans.

San Siro race against time
Friday 9 February, 2007
Milan are working day and night to get 28 turnstiles put in place so they can let the season ticket holders in to Sunday’s game against Livorno.
The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza – also known as San Siro – was not among the six arenas cleared to open under the new anti-violence laws, but their work is nearing completion.

“We are setting up 28 turnstiles on the old entrance to guarantee entrance on Sunday of at least 50,000 fans,” explained security chief Giovanni Terzi.

“The deadline for the local council inspection of the ground is on Saturday morning at 10am, so both clubs are working through the night to make sure the stadium can let supporters in, even if for the moment that’s only season ticket holders.”

Although San Siro does not have the electronic ticketing service, Adriano Galliani is confident the new turnstiles will be enough to open its gates this weekend.

“It’s not an issue of being optimistic or pessimistic, as with 28 turnstiles manned for personal ticket checks, I think we’ll be alright,” commented the Milan vice-President.

“We’re not asking for a full clean bill of health from the Government, but just for the season ticket holders to be able to get what they paid to see. I hope we can do this, because the city of Milan doesn’t deserve such a slap in the face.”

To date only six stadiums in all of Italy have passed the new Legge Pisanu guidelines – in Siena, Cagliari, Palermo, Turin, Genoa and Rome.

“Rome’s Stadio Olimpico remains open with 50 turnstiles for 80,000 people,” added security chief Terzi.

“If Milan are therefore turned down with the added 28 turnstiles, then in my view something has to be investigated. San Siro is also the only stadium ready for a European Championship match without needing further work, so it is a secure arena.”

I hope they don't stop once the season ticket holders can enter. But it's looking up.

In the summer Italian football had a scandal. Now another shite is happening. As consequence of this I can say only one thing for sure. Italy EURO 2012 = dream on.
Prepare to go to Ukraine-Poland for EURO 2012 ;)

though I'm Hungarian, i really don't want us to win the right to do EURO 2012, because here the hole situation is far worse than anywhere else in the region (or anywhere in Europe...:\). also the government will probably steal all the money again, and nothing will happen with our stadiums. It's pretty bad cause Croatia'd deserve it, but never us...:\

On the other hand Italy now can show better stadiums coming out in minutes.

According to uncle Fester this morning there will be 40 turnstiles for the cl matches. He says the city of milan deserve better treatment than what it's getting.

If they 40 turnstiles for the cl than we will be able to see the derby. Thats only 10 short of what stadio olympico has currently.

Its not only the stadiums. Overall situation in Italian football is not that good :(

Anyway I believe Poland/Ukraine will organise event on the top level. But anyway EURO 2012 is in 5 years so maybe UEFA will give Italy this chance.

The host is set to be chosen on April 18, 2007 in Cardiff, Wales. I will learn it as soon as possible ;)

REading about the Polish football scandal, I'm not that sure about their chances. Ukraine has the worst infrastructure by far than any other nominee state, and the Polish FA is on the brink of being suspended from UEFA...

If you look at this, plus Calciopoli, events at Catania, well, Croatia-Hungary SHOULD be the winner, but I tell you: Italy WILL get it. ;)

It's about corruption you know, my friend (Fiorentino) went to Inter-Fiorentina, and they were already building these turnstiles. He asked the people there why are they building these, they said, it's for the European Championships.
-What EC?
-Euro 2012!
-But they haven't even decided the host!
After this, the Italians just smiled... you can figure out the rest ;)

Karim, mate, can you read?

I said, MY FRIEND saw and heard this, he was the one who asked the people there, and he told me.

Not too complicated, I'm sorry, no plots, nothing... ;) :D

Tv cameras from meazza are now more focusing on Ingrato warming up rather than the game! LOL Still 1-1 thought I have to say Livorno has been slightly the better team!
