But the quality of our team makes many of us to consider us a strong 1/8 stage team at least and it's not an exaggeration. We have one of the best CB's, top GK, world class ST and perspective wingers. Perisic when reached his peak and mood is world's one of the top 3 left wingers. We have somewhat deeper reserves than what we used to have for the past 6 years or so. We are seeing improvements in team mentality as well, so all these progresses should result in decent achievements. Who knows, if we make it to the playoffs maybe we will get our mojo and reach the final

And we are certainly comparable in quality with Roma from the previous year who reached top 4 in Champions League. First need to pass the group of death, in which we are half through, then any achievement is a bonus this season. Our focus should be Serie A.

Would like us to reach quarterfinals, with that achievement plus market pool money we can basically buy Vrsaljko plus Politano. Add that to increased Serie A TV contract and new sponsors...boy we are really up for some big transfers next summer.

Despite the sensationalised headline, all that GdS article amounts to is comparing our stats this season with our treble team. We've conceded fewer goals and have kept more clean sheets, as well as having more overall points (Serie A+CL). We've also made our lives easier in the CL group compared to the treble year, as we all remember, and it even likens this year's loss to Parma to a draw with Bari, which is fair.

The only measure by which we're doing worse this year is in goals, with only 20 compared to 29.

We all know this team doesn't compare to the 2009/2010 squad (particularly Vecino -> Cambiasso :yao2:), but the article does make the point that Icardi has scored more than Milito did and Skriniar, at least thus far, has been every bit as good as Samuel.

i'd rather see Mario 55 mins and then Borja playing with Genoa players not as fresh.

Totally agree. Borja can kill the opponent's game in the last minutes...

Why is Candreva classed as a forward and Perisic classed as a midfielder?

In the last 10 Serie A meetings between Genoa and Inter the home has won each time.

Inter are unbeaten against Genoa in their last 12 home league games (W9 D3).

Inter have won six Serie A games in a row in a single Serie A season for the first time since January 2017 (seven games).

Inter have won each their last three home league games with just a single goal conceded: the last time they have won four such games in a row was back in October 2017.

Though Inter are second in the table, they have four points fewer than they did at the same stage last season.

Inter are one of the two teams (with Frosinone) to have not conceded a headed goal in Serie A this season.

Luciano Spalletti has never drawn against Genoa in Serie A: he has won seven games and lost three against them.

Genoa’s Goran Pandev played 46 Serie A games against Inter, scoring five times – the Macedonian has scored two goals in his last three league meetings against his former club.

Inter’s striker Mauro Icardi scored his very first Serie A goal against Genoa, in a Derby played with Sampdoria in November 2012.

Inter midfielder Antonio Candreva has taken 37 shots against Genoa in Serie A without scoring a single goal. :yao:

My basic problem solving and elementary mathematics skills seem to be getting dumber by the day but how the fuck is that possible? Any team can play against Inter max twice per season in the league. 46 / 2 = 23. Pandev has played in the Serie A since 1995? For 23 years? :yao:

EDIT: It's a typo and they meant Pandev has played 46 Serie A games FOR Inter and scored 5 goals FOR us :einstein: Phew, Humiliation avoided. Back to my unspeakable pornography.

I was going to question that but decided not to. He would have to have been playing in Serie A regularly for something like 26 years if you include the 3 years with Inter.

Goran Pandev is a legend, he can do whatever the fuck he wants, including playing 46 matches for us and 46 against us.

Actually, the matches are 47 but nevermind. :yao:

Looking at Pandev, I definitely didn't raise the question of him playing in Serie A for more than 23 years.

I mean he looks like he can be 40, and a genius level talent like him can start playing regularly at the age of 17, similar to Totti.

Everything just seems plausible.

Lmao.

I used to watch Serie A on Russian channels (Match and Sila), now, apparently, calcio won't be broadcasted in the CIS region because of the fact that international sponsor of Serie A (1xbet bookmaking service) is banned in Russia.

Time to log on to r/soccerstreams and watch eleven sports or Sky on acestream. I moved from my apartment to the house and Internet here is much worse than I had before, gonna be an issue to watch HD streams now.

i think 1xbet is some rich guys money laundering creation.
early movie torrents has 1xbet ads all over them, their site gives a privacy error warning in the browser and the company is banned here also.
also, it is registered in Curacao,a tax free country.
and it's an official sponsor of serie a. typical of Italy.

Both Sky and Gazzetta predict a midfield trio of Brozovic, Gagliardini and Joao Mario. Lautaro also seems to start instead of Icardi.

Could be, I know that the company technically is Russian, not sure who is the ultimate beneficiary. In Russia they registered formally independent entity called 1xStavka (Stavka is "bet" in Russian) and they operate legally in this country, whereas 1xbet is banned.

https://www.bookmakers.bet/19340/seriea-suspends-1xbet/ They actually have tried to become an international presenting sponsor since 2017.

I am really a bit confused with how Serie A sponsorship and broadcast package works. Premier league logo, overlay, scoreboard, etc. is the same everywhere (at least judging from my viewing experience in the country where I live and during my abroad trips). Domestically Serie A's graphics package differs on Sky and DAZN, the squad list, substitutions, the scoreboard, etc. And there's also IMG who is the managing company and holds the international broadcast rights. They have different design of scoreboard and all the relevant stuff (the generic one which looks pretty bad in 2018).
