Don't have one.
Yeah, that's how it looked to me as well, like he wanted to quickly switch sides and find dumfries, caught it a little bit too late on the different side of the foot, and it ended up being perfect. It doesn't take away anything from the goal imo, you have to have one hell of a left foot to score that, even if you didn't intend it.

It's better than he scored. We all know that Dumfries would have wasted that chance.

Now this discussion is taking another direction. Goal was crazy but we have to be real for the sake of truth. Luck is part of the game, whether it's in a good or bad way but having clear intentions is something else.

Fun game to attend live. That Dimarco goal is insanity in it's purest form. The Thuram penalty was hard to see from where I was sitting, but he continues to break down defenses and cause mistakes.
If his finishing was better, he’d be a €100m striker. But his dribbling, pace and ball control creates all sorts of problems for defenders.

Good win. Maybe not the most comfortable performance but Frosinone have been a solid side so far this season. Outrageous goal by Fede, intentional or not.

Please no one get hurt during the 17th international break of 2023.

Lol why do you think that having a look at his surroundings means he's fixated on passing the ball that way.
If anything that angle just shows that his only option was to either hold onto the ball or shoot it :D

He's looking at the ball and his body language suggests that he's going for goal. He's looking at the ball and the goal right after shooting, not at his teammates who allegedly would get the ball.
And he drifts outwards upon hitting the ball, not forward, an indication that he's shooting and not crossing...

If you want to pay attention to the little things, maybe you need to do just that :)

How does that make even sense? Football is all about timing and positioning, so unless you make scannings to prepare yourself for that execution, you will fail in major times.

Since you mentioned options in such situation, then I'd say you could just keep going further ahead and maintain control of the ball, and receive a foul eventually if you don't get support in time. I mean, that's another thing, the debate was whether that goal was intentional or it was an attempt for a long ball, and you're insisting on something that doesn't make sense after all these clips from different angles.

But then again, why am I debating over something which is too obvious lol.

I honestly don't wanna sound negative, but come on, we have to be real for the sake of truth. Dimarco's attempt took a crazy trajectory which ended in an exceptional goal, and I'm happy for him.

I don't know why it's so complicated. It is normal to try a high ball in that situation knowing the goalkeeper was moving up quite a bit, perhaps to prevent a low cross. Many have attempted the same thing and got their luck sometimes.

Watched a few other angles, 100% it was intentional, right before he looked back down to the ball there was an extremely brief moment he glanced at the keeper, also I think those who thought it was a miss hit just got deceived like the GK, you cannot make it too obvious for shots like this, else you won't make it, they will run back before you even shoot it.

Only problem here is that Dimarco isn't hyped worldwide by the English media :)

If you guys remember after the treble, in the world cup, Maicon scored a goal that looked way more as an intended pass, but nobody questioned ever that.

I wish from the bottom of my heart it was intended as a pass, but I'll never admit that.

It was always a goal. Goal. Get over it.

It's like questioning a 35m goal in the right top corner, whether it was intended for the same exact corner.

Goal.
